The Tote Bag ReviewI wanted to get one of "The Tote Bags" but did not want to pay that much money until I see if I would actually carry it enough to justify the expense. So, my search for a dupe began. I read lots of reviews of the different bags available on Amazon and finally settled on this one. I received the bag, and I am posting my initial review.Color: The black is not as dark as in the photo, but it is not a deal breaker for me. There is still enough contrast with the white lettering so that they pop against the black. The white of the lettering is good.Lettering: The lettering is sharp and defined. The spacing is good. The letter size is good. The placement is good. I read reviews and looked at pictures of some other sellers where the letters were really not lined up well. That is not an issue at all with the bag I received. There are some minor blemishes that are visible on the white letters, and you can actually feel them if you rub your fingers over them. I can see them from a distance of a few feet away even without my glasses, BUT if I did not already know they were there, they would not jump out at me. I think a casual observer would not pay any attention to them.Material: This is a thick canvas, and the texture is a little rough and stiff. I imagine this will soften up a bit over time, but I would think it needs to be a little stiff in order to help hold the shape. There is a little bit of a sheen to the fabric around the outside seams which may be from a product to help stiffen or support those seams or to help create the crease or even help hold the seams together. It is not extremely visible, and if I were not doing this review, I do not know that I would notice it. The seams around the outside and the upper part of the handles do not seem nearly as sturdy as the seams that attach the handles to the bag. The thread used to attach the handles to the bag is much more substantial and thicker. The thread around the outside seams looks thinner and frankly, cheaper. This may be an intentional design feature so that the seams around the outside are less noticeable and blend into the canvas more, so I hate to be overly-critical. I will know more once I have carried it for a while.Size: The size was as expected and the measurements were close. No complaints there. However, do NOT make your purchase thinking that the bag is huge like it looks on the model in the product photos. Before I ordered, I got out an old fashioned tape measure to help visualize the bag based on the written measurements. I usually try to pull out one of my own bags to make a size comparison so that I can create a mental picture of what the bag size will look like in person. In my opinion, the photos make the bag look MUCH bigger than it actually is, so manage your expectations.Strap: The strap material is soft and pliable. The adjuster slides easily but stays in place when pulled. Once attached to the bag, I gave the strap some pretty significant tugs and there were no problems there. The hardware feels a bit delicate, so I don’t think I will be carrying 50 pounds of stuff in this bag using the strap, but that could be a misperception. It may wind up being super sturdy. I tend to carry tons of junk in my purse, so we will see how this goes.Scarf/Ribbon: It is fine. These are not usually my cup of tea, but it does create a softer look for the bag.Zipper: This is my main issue with this bag. The description refers to this as a “secure top zipper.” For me, a zipper should stay in place until you engage the tab and pull it. This zipper just slides right open if you pull on the sides. I didn’t expect the best zipper ever, but the zipper should perform better than this. I hate to say it, but it just feels cheap.Since I do not own an original of "The Tote Bag," my review is of this bag only and not in comparison to an original so please keep that in mind. Overall, the bag seems good. I cannot say great until I have carried it for a while. I will try to post an update once I have used it a bit and can say how the bag is holding up. Just for this initial review, I really think the zipper is the only problem with this bag. I will see how the stitching does. If I wind up being happy with it, I may just forget about getting an original and buy some more colors from this seller.

This is a perfectly lovely dupe that will get plenty of carry time. I was concerned it might be a bit too small but, nope. I ordered an insert to help keep the shape and to eliminate the loss of small things into the void of darkness that is the inside of a black purse. Highly recommend an insert to keep things where you need them. This easily fits all my day to day items with room for a larger tablet (I have a Microsoft Surface Pro) and a water bottle (stands up at the edge of the bag to still allow the top to zip). Top zipper is quality and doesn't snag or catch when opening/closing. If you want the MJ look without thr cost, this is your bag. Front printing was aligned beautifully.

I’d like to start off by saying I have the original one but wanted a cheaper dupe for everyday use so not to dirty or ruin the original since I use it for vacation. This is pretty decent dupe of course the quality of nothing like the Marc Jacobs but I didn’t expect it to be. The material is more soft and doesn’t hold its shape as the original but that didn’t matter to me, it does hold sale a little better when it has stuff in it. I think my only complaint is that it’s not as olive green as the picture looked but it’s a nice color. If you want a decent dupe I recommend it just don’t expect it to be exactly like the OG

It’s a great bag and fits a lot in it! Good size and cute. I may have overstuffed it, but the crossbody strap that comes with it broke on first use… bag itself though is of good quality

Love this bag. It's large like the description. Has a lot of room. The color is very vibrant what I wanted. Handles are nice and thick holds my 15inch laptop in my laptop bag easily. Plus all my other notebooks etc. This bag is it.. wish they had the RED one.

This tote bag is extremely cute and is also very functional. The large pocket with zipper on the inside was a nice surprise! The green is such a gorgeous color.

Let me preface by saying I have a real one, but in large and in slate green. This isn't a terrible dupe at all. I'll point out the few differences. For starters, the fabric on this one is very very flimsy. It's definitely not as structured as the real one (which will hold it's shape). The hardware is also inferior. The zipper feels ok, but looks differently than a real one. It also doesn't have a back label (which the pictures on the listing do show that it doesn't have it, so that wasn't a surprise). Also, the zipper end and bag loop to secure it are on the wrong side. Lastly, I really don't like the shoulder strap. It's this weird, cheap, silky material that feels like it'll catch on everything or slide down when there's weight in the bag.Those things aside, I do have to give kudos on the front print! I saw reviews where it was crooked, misaligned, bad kerning, etc. But mine is actually pretty close to perfect!If you want a decent dupe, and for an inexpensive price, you can't go too wrong with this one. I'm too finicky though, and will most likely return it and just buy the real thing.

it’s nice and spacious with 3 pockets on the inside. It has nice and thick fabric but i recommend getting a tote organizer if you use it fur school.
