Wilkinson Sword Unknown Stainless Steel Edging Blade, Multicolored

This edging iron is of top quality.I cannot understand the remarks about this tool snapping. It most definitely will not do so if it is used correctly.after 55 years of gardening this has never happened to me.It should be used like a knife, not a spade. It is used to edge lawns, not to dig new edges.This is well crafted, strong, good to use and to look at.During a cold or wet period, I love to spend and hour or two shining and cleaning my tools in the shed.heater on, boots off, bottle of beer or two, bliss.I know, Im sad and need to get a life. Im also in my seventies, on no medication and happy!

Apart from the massively oversized box it came in it really looked the bees-knees so I simply put it one side to use later. However when I came to use it, expecting it to slice the lawn like a knife through butter, I was having to use all my weight. So for the first time I took a close look at my new purchase and saw that the blade might be called an edger but it didn't have an edge! There is at least a millimetre flat on it. I've only seen a couple of reviews on here that complain about lack of sharpness so it may be that it is just one of a few that escaped the attention of QA. Anyway I won't go through the gut-ache of trying to return it. I'll see if one of my friends has a grinding wheel so I can finish it off properly.

I am very dissapointed with this tool .My husband had to grind the edge on it as it wasn't sharp .If I hadn't already struggled with it and used it i would definitely sent it back .I would not recommend this to anyone looking to buy a lawn edger. For Wilkinson sword I would have expected quality.This was not.

An extremely good product much expected by such a brand name as WS. The instant it hit the door it was put to the test on approx 50 foot of edging, and it came up trumps. A sturdy wooden piece with steel edge flange blade to protect the foot when stepping and cutting, this tool breezed through the task at hand.Please remember that a good tool will always look after you, so I would highly recommend cleaning the blade at the end of each use and even putting a small amount of oil over the blade to prevent corrosion.Money well spent.

The blade... Fantastic... The handle... Utter rubbish! Bought the item as a present for an avid gardener and upon the first use of the thing they managed 6 feet of edging before the tip of the shaft broke off inside the blade. Seems like a slight design floor that it should taper to such a fine point with a hole drilled through it... Can it really be that strong?But I'm disappointed to say the least.Now let's see about this 10 year guarantee!

A little bit expensive, but it did the job. I have bought several of these tools but I would say this is the best. I have a very large garden with several large areas of lawn and as a 72 yr old woman this tool helped to get the job done. There is no other tool that edges lawns I have tried them but would recommend this

Arrived in good swift time packed in a package box. Used in first instance on garden. Good precision edge cutting without been forcive on the tool. I was thrilled by the impact it creates and stainless steel well made from a top brand. Worth the purchase and would recommend.

Disappointed as it broke within 15 minutes of use. Not what I expected from this well known brand that I have regarded as brand leader for Gardening Tools. I was cutting a 2M diameter circle in my lawn and the blade snapped off before I could cut one third of the circle. I need to buy another one but not sure if I can now trust this brand for this tool.
