Question 2

What do you use to protect the stove and accessories? The provided pouch is very bulky and kind of out of question for any serious long-term trekking.

Hi! The fuel bottle needs no real protection, even with the pump screwed on top. I use a small canvas pouch that came as a wallet bag / gift box, to protect the burner itself when carried in a backpack, ideally in a pocket, rather than in the main compartment. You could also use the various kinds of pouches /bags that come with any outdoor pots, kettles, lpg gas lanterns etc. feel free to improvise, and enjoy your great stove!

Is there a warranty on this item?

Sorry for the delay answering . 
I've just found and looked inside the box . I can't see a warranty in mine .
I've had mine a few years now , still working fine .
It does take some maintenance though .
It needs stripping down and cleaning regularly .
The jet needs cleaning regularly and I have had to replace the rubber washer inside the pump .
I've found that it runs better on the cleaner colemans fuel than unleaded .
The only other issue that I have had is it flairing up and burning a hole in my tent .
Primus also have a trouble shooting vid up for this stove to help solve any problems with it .

is it set up from the box for a normal gas cartridge for i cant get it to work properly

Check the other valves to see what’s in there first. I use Coleman fuel & it never worked on the smallest gas valve. It worked well on the middle jet which is for liquid fuel which suits me fine as your running on the same fuel valve. The only gas I found that ran on the smallest valve was the Primus. You shouldn’t need to prime with gas but you could try that also. I believe it’s probably the valve (jet) that’s in there with the brand of Gas your using. Hope this helps..
