Shame
I have bought 6 bags or so of the 10qt option. Each time they have arrived fresh with correctly sized bark chunks. My last box gave TEN of my orchids a white fungus..okay nature right? So I ordered two additional boxes and was just going to bake it today to avoid that happening again. What I received today was the worst quality bark I have ever seen or smelled! Both bags smell like feces, and are severely broken down. I gave this another chance because I'm reasonable, but just for those 10 orchids I'm having to spend over $100 already to redo ALL of their potting medium. Now this added headache?! Plus I get to drive to return this literal garbage..smh. The pieces are much smaller than the other 6 I have ordered as well. Upon pulling the bags out of the boxes there was moisture...so they were not dried completely before being packaged. The packaging has changed, and the bark quality has changed. I no longer recommend this product as the quality mid 2024 to now has gone WAY downhill. Save your plants, time, and money and purchase from somewhere else!

Don’t like pine bark alone for orchids; this is good pine bark
Not sure how to review this pine bark orchid medium. Many people recommend this for orchids. I find that pine bark dries out very quickly, even if you soak it. If you use those terra cotta pots with the holes in the sides, you’d better be ready to dedicate a fair portion of your life to orchid care - they’ll dry up and wilt in no time! At this point, I’m using maybe a third to a half sphagnum (by volume) with the bark. Sphagnum alone gets waterlogged and suffocating; bark alone threatens the plants with desiccation. This product is perfectly fine pine bark. I’m questioning the utility of the medium itself, not the quality of this particular version.

Great for mixing into aeroid mix
I purchased this to add into my soil mix for indoor plants. So far, they are happy. I like being able to control the amount of drainage and water retention to match my plants' needs. Good quality.

The bark is mostly thin flat shavings. The pictures show chunks of bark. I'll stick with Orchiata brand, a little more money but is higher quality.

Same quality as local nursery
The pieces are the right size and fairly uniform. I use these chips as mulch on an indoor tree. Glad to have them. Package is large enough to mulch another large plant !

First order was amber brown uniform size and dry- beautiful. . This batch is wet, dark brown and has light yellow sticks in it. Will not be ordering again. Inconsistent quality. Maybe they send the best first then after send their low grade. No easy way to contact seller to make complaint.
