Loads of spelling errors
I have just received this book, and I do really love the book, but it's noticeable it was printed by Amazon and without an editor, unfortunately. On the back cover, the illustration is not in the centre, and also there are a lot of errors throughout the book.I've skimmed through every page, properly excited to try them all, but here are the spelling errors and minor defaults I could see (this may help the author):(There could be more that I did not spot though)Page 228 - "1" is separated from the ingredient on a different linePage 220 - "Waterfall water" should be one line lower as it's next to another ingredient;Page 216 - "1 tbsp of fennel" should be one line lower, "grains of myrrh" and "1tbsp of clover" tooPage 212 - "Musk", "oregano" and "12 red roses" should all be on separate linesPage 207 - "Honey" again, should be one line lowerPage 198 - "Lavender oil" should be one line lowerPage 188 - "Ammonia" should be one line lowerPage 181 - "Sandalwood incense" should be one line lowerPage 182 - first line "to" is missing the "t";Page 147 - "A five-cent coin" should be one line lower in the ingredients list as it's right next to another ingredientPage 137 - "River water" should also be one line lowerPage 134 - same thing with "Bay oil"Page 121 - "Cinnamon" is missing the "c" in the ingredient's list, the missing "c" is one line up next to "Oregano"Page 115 - "Waterfall water" should again be one line lowerPage 110 - "1 plate" should be a line lowerPage 96 - "Waterfall water" should be one line lowerPage 88 - "Honey" should be one line lowerPage 85 - "Half a glass of rum" should be one line lowerPage 75 - "Honey" should be one line lowerPage 71 - "Rose water" should be one line lowerPage 69 - "Waterfall" instead of "waterfall water"Page 65 - There's a random "Marjoram Verbana Basil Hypericum 1 ivy leaf" in the descriptionPage 57 - "White sheet" should be one line lowerPage 31 - "Cinnamon sticks" and "Red lanyard" should be one line lower and "honey" as wellPage 29 - "A pen" and "A white candle" and "sugar" should be one line lowerPage 26 - "9 rose petals" should be one line lowerSomething I don't particularly like/agree with is the fact there are quite a few spells that are Christian and ask for the Lord/God/Jesus, and also involve ingredients like the holy bible and holy water, which to anyone like myself, who isn't Christian, is not of any use really. If you are Christian, or if this doesn't bother you, go for it! However, I do see myself making some amendments to see if I can fix up these spells according to my beliefs. A lot of witches aren't typically Christian (they do exist however) as it's against their religion, and you'll find most witches are in fact Pagan or Atheist, so I was a bit surprised to come across them! I do understand though that these are a compilation of all sorts of spells, some being very old!Another thing I'm not in total agreement with is the fact that there is absolutely nowhere that says where each spell comes from, so you have no idea the type of magick you are performing, whether it be light or dark magick, beginner-friendly or advanced, or even whether it's from a closed-practice. I googled one of the spells which involve some words from another language and turns out it is for an advanced practitioner and came with a warning alongside it. The spell in the book is called "spell to attract abundance" which was on the website where I found it as "Ancient Black Magic Money Ritual", the rite is exactly the same but used in "written form" in this book rather than cited out loud in the original spell. So be careful with these spells, if you're a beginner, to not harm yourself and make sure you protect yourself every time!I also absolutely do not want to perform any spells that may include a closed practice, so this is rather unfortunate to not know where these come from (one of the spells is Brazilean). I'll have to try and figure out where they come from myself. Those were the critics, now onto the positives! I do really love the book and will keep it despite the major amount of errors, I will be attempting to fix them! It has 200 jar spells that cover anything that you could possibly need and is beautifully designed with lovely imagery. I also like the fact that the ingredients aren't overly complicated and quite easy to come by.
