fun to play with
I recently had the opportunity to try out the Create Your Play Sensory Tray by Learning Resources, and I must say it's a fantastic tool for promoting sensory exploration, fine motor skills, and creative play in young children. One of the standout features of this sensory tray is its versatility. It comes with a variety of loose parts that can be used to create endless play scenarios. From colorful buttons and beads to textured balls and foam shapes, there's a wide range of materials that children can use to engage their senses and unleash their imagination. This encourages open-ended play, where children can explore, experiment, and create their own unique play experiences. The inclusion of scissors and occupational therapy tools in the set is a wonderful addition. It provides an opportunity for children to practice their scissor skills and fine motor control, which are essential for their development. The tray itself serves as a dedicated space for these activities, keeping all the loose parts contained and organized. The sensory trays come with lids, which is a thoughtful design choice. Not only do the lids help keep the materials neatly stored when not in use, but they also provide a smooth surface for children to work on. The lids can double as a play surface, allowing children to engage in fine motor activities, sorting, and pattern-making. The versatility of the trays and lids enhances the play possibilities and encourages children to explore different ways of using the materials. The quality of the materials is excellent. The buttons, beads, balls, and foam shapes are durable and well-made, ensuring they can withstand the enthusiastic play of young children. The colors are vibrant and appealing, capturing the attention of little ones and stimulating their visual senses. The variety of textures adds a tactile element to play, further engaging children's senses and promoting sensory exploration. What sets this sensory tray apart is its educational value. While children are having fun and engaging in imaginative play, they are also developing important skills. Fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, scissor skills, and sensory exploration are all being nurtured through play. This makes the Create Your Play Sensory Tray a valuable tool for parents, educators, and occupational therapists who are looking to provide children with engaging and educational play experiences. In conclusion, the Create Your Play Sensory Tray by Learning Resources is an outstanding resource for promoting sensory exploration, fine motor skills, and imaginative play in young children. With its versatile loose parts, inclusion of scissor and occupational therapy tools, and thoughtful design, it offers a wealth of play possibilities. The quality materials and educational value make it a valuable addition to any home, classroom, or therapy setting. If you're looking to inspire creativity, fine motor skills, and sensory development in children aged 3 and above, this sensory tray is definitely worth considering.

A fun activity
This set comes in a really nicely illustrated cardboard sleeve that shows what comes inside the package. The cups are a variety of sized circles and ovals, and can be filled with whatever you find to play with, our grandson used rice, flour, cereal pieces and water ( a trip to the beach is needed to gather sand and shells). The 8 dual sided picture cards give a bit more interest when filling the cups as he was a little more mindful of what to put where. The base and lid are made of a reasonably thick plastic so hopefully he will get to play with it for a while,it does state dishwasher safe but we have been hand washing. This has given him pleasure when he sees his creations finished and has helped with his motor skills,he has used the scoop and pipette so far, and there is also a pair of safety scissors in the pack. At £25.00 at the time of writing this review,it has the scope to be so much more by adding different shapes (we're getting some cookie cutters to use too) and a few basic materials, but in all it is a good buy that brings a smile to his face.

Superb
Teachers tend to use large black builders trays as sensory play items in a classroom, but this resource allows you to work at home with a special needs child to increase their sensory exploration, fine motor skills and creative play. Or in a school order several and set up a small table where the children can have ten minutes and move on, use a timer?!The best thing about this is the versatility, there are very helpful hints that anyone could use within the enclosed booklet. The item comes with tools, cups, the tray, inserts for the bottom of the tray, eight which are double sided and the booklet tells you which inserts to use for which types of activity. You will see what I mean by this if you click on pics 5 through to 8. The top lid of the tray is sensory as it has a raised imprint on it, pic 2! Pic 9 shows the whole set up in one! Will definitely be good for home use if you have a child with developmental delay, ie fine motor skills, speech and language, possible autism, where other senses come into play.I am happy to recommend this to teaching or other professionals or for home use.

Great For My Exploring Toddler
My little one is fast developing an interest in all manner of things around him but isn't necessarily the most delicate when it comes to observing or experiencing by touch so I figured this sensory tray would allow me to help him explore while keeping things like bugs safe from harm! You get a nice sturdy tray that can be used on it's own, I initially filled it with water and some of his sea creatures in ice and he loved that. You also get an array of containers that can be used for storing items such as toys, rocks, bugs, craft items etc. It will come in handy as we explore that garden and woods over the summer but will also allow me to give a more visual aid to things like his math and also practice in fine motor skills using the scissors, scoop and dropper provided. You also get 8 double sided activity cards which just make the background a bit more fun. Overall really impressed with this set and can highly recommend for those little ones that can't simply explore with their eyes but with their clumsy hands too!

On the fence
I’m not sure about this. Our sons (2 and 4) both enjoy playing with the containers and collecting things to put in, they enjoyed the cards included for a little while but the novelty of these quickly wore off. The containers are of good quality but essentially this is all this set is, a set of 8 pots which for £25 seems ridiculously expensive. A reduction in perhaps £10 would be far more reasonable and something I could justify spending on this I think.
