Deda ElementiCork Handlebar Tape

Excellent bar tape.
Inexpensive, branded, good quality bar tape. I use a proprietary thin tape as a first wrap and this stuff as a second wrap to provide cushioning on a gravel bike without too much ‘girth’ to the bar. Bars are FSA Omega compact with SRAM Apex levers and the entire setup works well this this taping setup. Many people leave poor reviews simply because they don’t know how to apply bar tape. I’ve tried about 15-20 types over the years and this stuff is top quality. Use electrical tape rather than the bits they include. To double wrap , make sure you cut the existing tape 1cm or so back from the end as leave about 5mm overhang of the second layer to tuck in under your bar plug. Seal the ends with tape and overlap the end plug too.

Better than I thought
I bought this for a restoration project. Although the description says it's cork tape I'm pretty sure it's foam tape. But, as I'd purchased it, and needed the tape, I used it regardless. And to be fair after applying- it looks pretty sweet on the bars.Fairly easy to apply, and strong enough to pull with some force without breaking, it went on fine. The only thing I don't like about the tape is the Deda logo. If the logo was more frequently stamped into the tape it would look better, as you can see from the photo the logo is shown more on one side of the bars than the other. But that's more my ocd kicking in as a bike builder!Would I buy it again? I guess I would.

Best bar tape out there
I think this bar tape is so good that I run it on all of my bikes. It does everything a £30 tape does for a fraction of the cost. It's nice and easy to install. It is very comfortable to hold on to, providing confidence in descents and comfort over rough surfaces. In wet conditions it is still very grippy, and the water wipes off very easily. There are some cons to the bar tape, they don't put me off at all but they might put others off, the 1 star missing off my rating reflects these:The finishing strip is poor, it doesn't stick well and generally looks cheapWhen removing the tape from bars the adhesive tends to stick to the barsThe coloured options get dirty really quickly, and is impossible to clean

This has other uses not just for bikes!!
This has other uses not just for bikes!!Looking into investing two new walking sticks was going to cost around £35 as the handles had become worn and uncomfortable due to the rubber disintegrating.. I started to look at other ways of repairing the ones I’ve already got.Bikes sprung to mind with having two handle bars! So I started to look around for a sleeve I could put over the handles on my walking sticks. But most are only designed for that purpose alone..Then I remembered seeing something about strapping up the handlebars for competitive sports. So I looked at handle bar wraps.. it was a gamble but not as expensive as replacing my sticks they are still good to go as I can replace the rubber stopper easily enough so why not the handle! Why manufacturers haven’t designed something like this I do not know! (Someone take this and design something for us to buy affordable for a disabled person) 😉I removed most of the rubber and sanded the handles down washed them and wrapped them as the photo shows you need to use a bit of stretch for it to adhere and then finish off with a blob of superglue to seal the end! I think I did a great job and saved myself £27 in the process! There’s still enough left for a second application so the jobs a good one! 👍🏼Hope this helps.. anything to save a few pennies with the price hikes at the moment!

Great cheap bar tape - vibrant colour
I fitted this bar tape yesterday and have ridden with it once so far, but already it has made a very positive impression on me. Until my last two attempts I haven't particularly enjoyed fitting bar tape, but now I guess I have had enough practice to make a reasonable job of it.I found this tape actually very easy to fit. The adhesion was really good, it was straightforward to get it lined up in the right places, and I'm particularly thrilled with the finish. There was plenty of excess on my 40cm drop bars, and therefore I didn't require the extra small offcuts for the shifters. The colour is vibrant and the logo detail is nice and understated. Some people like things a particular way may not like the fact the the logo faces in different directions on the tops and the drops, but that's not an issue for me!In terms of comfort, I've fitted this onto a dedicated turbo bike so I can't comment on it's shock absorbency, but it felt great whilst sitting in front of Zwift for 90 minutes. It's probably not going to be the most sweat repellant tape you'll find, but at this price my plan is to just replace it every 3 months or so when it gets too smelly.

Great bar tape!
I found this bar tape very easy to wrap. I've wrapped a few bars over the years with mixed results mostly due to the type of tape I was using at the time. This bar tape was very easy to handle, had the whole job done in next to no time. Decent results too.The finishing tape isn't great but I find that's usually the case with any bar tape, certainly the ones I've used. Much prefer to use electricians tape.Overall, this bar tape was great and of very good quality, definitely buy again.

VERY SMART. LOOKS GOOD
I bought this to put on a SUN Worksop cycle I was restoring for a friend.I had not put this type of tape on drop handlebars before; so I made sure I watched several YouTube videos before I attempted it (I recommend the PARK TOOL one).It was easy enough. Try to do it in a warm environment if you can, as it will stick better. In the photos, you will see I finished it with RED tape. This was done to match the frame. It comes with BLACK tape.
