Too narrow

It works to stretch the spring out but you need to really squeeze hard to get the diameter you need. It would be nice if you could lock the stretched spring to rest your hand. It got the job done

I was slightly skeptical that I would need this but didn't wanna take a chance. WOW! seriously without this tool the washer repair would have been stalled at the eleventh hour. Takes a bit of patience to use it, when every other tool closes when you squeeze and this one opens further it's different. This is made well, very sturdy and it was delivered earlier than expected. Would totally recommend if you are doing anything with the front door seal on a washer.

I have an LG front-loading washer that occasionally loses its tub spring. I don't know why it pops off, but it can be very annoying to get back on without a tool like this. For the few times a year that this happens this tool saves a lot of headaches and is well worth the price. I keep it in the laundry room so it's handy.

Had to replace the drain pump on an LG front-load washer.Getting the retaining ring back on the front seal is impossible without this tool!Not something you need often, but when you need it, you need it.And saves lots of $$ from calling appliance repair…

Works great for the outer spring, first one you remove to replace the rubber gasket boot.Did not work for the second inner spring. Mine required a tool that can open wider than this does, due to the shape of the springs rings. It was close, just needed a little more.However, with this design, there is no way to open the spring a little more than the tool is a able to.

does not work for maytag machines. will require extensions to be fixed to it - otherwise it just doesn't open wide enough to use on the spring

I needed to change out a pump motor for the washing machine and had watched several repair videos. I saw a couple of different people recommend this tool. At first, I thought it was going to be a waste of money as some repair people made the spring sound easy, "just a screwdriver should help you". HAHAHAH yea no! For the sake of comparison, I did try to put the spring on without the tool and no I never would have gotten it on. I would have been sitting there with a half-assembled washing machine waiting for this tool to be delivered. I'm glad I just went ahead and purchased it before I started the repair.
