This item comes in a really pretty grey/ beige coloured box tied with a purple bow.Inside the box the necklace is presented on purple velvet material.The pearls themselves are well matched and have a good weight to them. The sterling silver chain and pearl mounts compliment this piece of jewellery beautifully.The necklace is a lariat type which you tie yourself. This means you can customise the overall design depending on how you tie the two chains together. This would be good for people who find the traditional clasp type of necklace difficult or fiddly to deal with.I wore this all day and it didn’t come loose. The weight of the pearls means you can feel the necklace, an added reassurance that you can notice it and also helps to ensure the piece didn’t come loose once tied into place.This design is simple enough that you can dress it down with jeans for day or wear it out at night too.

Well I guess mine came pre-loved because it was just lying at bottom the box tangled up in knots and it took me 15 mins to untangle it. Reading other reviews, it should be on the presentation card with the rest of the chain tucked inside a plastic bag - no plastic bag for me and the presentation card was empty! It also comes with a small foldout card showing other jewellery in the range but not the actual necklace that was in the box. It would have been nice to have details about the necklace in the box especially if this is intended as a gift because there is nothing in the box to indicate what this necklace is, how to wear it, what it's made of etc.Anyway, according to amazon product info, the necklace is sterling silver, with Chinese Freshwater Cultured pearl acorns. Mine is "Rose Gold" and is stamped FL S925 so presumably still sterling silver base but coloured rose gold. I don't know, as I said, more info in the box would be nice, so I am going on the amazon product description. In the amazon product description, it says the length is 56cm. Mine is not. From end to end ie tip of pearl to other tip of pearl it reaches 55cm, the chain itself is 53cm - this is total length remember so when it is around your neck and tied lariat style it's really quite short and depending on your preference for tying, you can have the acorns dangling longer or shorter. Presumably the weight of the acorns are sufficiently heavy to hold everything in place although I would be a little nervous about the possibility of this slipping off my neck without me even realising it was gone - say if dancing, or some other activity.I have to say that the photo on amazon looked lovely but I was disappointed on how it looked when it arrived - a tangled mess thrown in a box - and definitely did not look like fine jewellery with a £88 price tag! My impression is that if I gave this to someone they would not expect it to cost £88 or be made of sterling silver. In this instance I can only give it 3/5 Presentation is everything and it was lacking in this case.

A lovely design of acorns threaded from a silver necklace. It's not something I've seen before, although there is a definite Eastern influence. It's great to support an independent British jewellery maker too. Buy it for a loved one and I'm sure they'll treasure it.

This is a beautiful 925 silver and fresh water pearl pendant which comes presented in an attractive velvet box. The chain is just the right length for me and so easy to 'close' just by looping it over itself, I thought it would fall off the first time I wore it but it stays looped perfectly. It sets off any outfit and I complemented it by wearing pearl earrings. I love it.

I was pleasantly surprised by this piece of jewellery, it looks better in person than you'd think.The acorns adorn a silver chain which is of good length.The Acorns themselves use pearls as the main part with a silver rose coloured top, and actually, the pearls are surprisingly iridescent and they really do look like little acorns. It's a cool design. Equally the lack of traditional claps might throw people but it does work well.It looks pretty stylish and i think it's quite fun too. I think this would make a lovely gift.

This necklace is unusual as it has no clasp. It’s a fine rose gold chain with two quite heavy end pieces with pearls on a block of rose gold coloured metal. Grand mother living alone loosing the dexterity in her fingers and lacking the eye sight to manage a clasp would have liked this as you hang it around the back of your neck and just ‘tie it’.It’s not long, unlikely to falling into anyone’s cleavage, and will hang best on open skin rather than over a jumper or blouse. Great for an evening out, not so much every day wear.

The necklace comes in a lovely purple velvet lined box, showing off the silver chain and the two silver and pearl acorns to perfection. The remainder of the chain is in a small plastic bag behind the display mount, so there was no possibility of the chain becoming tangled or knotted. The Chinese freshwater pearls are beautifully mounted in silver ‘cups’. So these stylistic ‘acorns’ are formed and as they catch the light they look simply gorgeous.At first I looked for a clasp for the chain and then realised that the necklace is created by placing the chain around the neck and making a single knot of the acorns in the front. This is the first time I have seen this arrangement. It is just ideal, if for any reason it is difficult to manoeuver the normally tiny necklace clasps whether it is because of arthritis or any manual dexterity compromising condition.It easily sets off the day time casual look whether it’s a denim shirt or a silk blouse and it is also equally lovely to wear in the evening, giving that quiet sophisticated yet understated look. There are matching earrings that I will be buying to complete the evening look.This is a very fine necklace, ideal as a special gift for any season or celebration.
