The French Art of Living Well: Finding Joie de Vivre in the Everyday World

Life's Experience in France
I found this a delightful guide to all that is French. It was like a friend who was showing me all her favorite spot and reasons she love France. The author talks about the food, the people, their politics, their independence and what it was like learning French, and how those events have remained with her forever. How different the French see the world and how they appreciate family and being together over work, work and more work. How they say good morning and good evening to everyone; and how they love their soccer. How they love all type of music, art; and their bookstores and how rich and rewarding spending time among the arts is, and how important it is to seize each moment and make it worthwhile. It will make you happy exploring the French life with Cathy Yandell's, as she talks about her experiences while living in France.I want to thank St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for an advance copy of this life experience in France.

Highly Recommend!
This author writes not only about her experiences living in France, but also highlights the cultural and social differences. This author explains how joie de vivre (joy of living) is in every aspect of French life! A fun read that will transport you to France, give you some insight into French life and history, and will even give you a good laugh! For me, this book was very relatable as I have experienced French life, having had the opportunity to live in France for 6 years! The author is right, you can never become French no matter how long you live there, but you can certainly embrace joie de vivre in French life! A great book for those who have lived in France, have vacationed or who are inspired to visit France one day!

Funny!
I wasn't sure about this book when I listened to the clip, but I'm glad I gave it a chance. I laughed out loud when she recounted each faux pas she'd committed in an effort to be a good dinner guest.
