TriOak Calming Collar for Cats
This is the first time I have purchased a pheromone collar for a cat, so I have no prior experience to compare it to. We did purchase a couple of the Feliway plug-in pheromone devices about a week before and I find their influence negotiable. Because of the minimal effect of the plug-ins and the recommendation by our vet for pheromones, I decided to look into a collar. To me, a collar actually makes more sense than a room atomizer. It seems like it should have a more direct effect on the cat logically. My experience with the TriOak calm collar was this: I put on his collar while I had our cat captive in the litter box (he had been exhibiting spraying and litter box issues prior to this). Immediately, after attaching it, he seemed much calmer and relaxed. I do think it had an effect on him since he immediately laid down to watch out the window and napped. However, a few days later we learned that his issue had a physical origin and he had a small surgery to correct it. So we couldn't expect a collar to completely erase our woes. That said, I did see an immediate response and calm. Once his cone goes off, I plan to put on a new collar from the package — since he is naturally nervous and will be even more since the surgery. Hoping it works just as good with the next one I put on :)

Don’t really glow in the dark
I have a void of a cat and I talk to laundry on the floor a lot — he also happens to be a little ball of stress so I was ecstatic to see they made a calming collar that glows. Unfortunately it only glows a tiny, tiny bit when you charge it up under a light and then stops glowing shortly after putting it on. The calming factor however works great!

Dramatic difference in anxious cat
My girlfriend moved in with me about 3 months ago and, much to our dismay and frustration, our cats were accidentally introduced way too soon which resulted in a traumatic fight between them. We have been gradually trying to get them aquainted ever since, but it has been a difficult process. (We currently keep them apart and let them have access to the house in shifts.) The biggest hurdle we have been trying to deal with is that my girlfrind's cat is so anxious she constantly hides anytime we try to safely expose them to each other. This same cat has also known me for well over a year and still doesn't want anything to do with me and often hides when I enter the room.I bought these collars in hopes that it would help with getting our cats better aquainted. It has only been a day and already my girlfriend's cat has shown a dramatic difference in behavior. She spent the whole evening sitting between us, let me pet her, and purred when I did so. I can't express what a huge change this is for her! I'm absolutely thrilled.Healing the cat relationship is probably going to take a lot more time and patience. My cat doesn't seem to be as responsive to the collar's effects, but tonight I was able to crack the door between them and get them both to play with a laser pointer for a little while. When I have tried this in the past, my girlfriends cat always ran away and hid. Tonight she bravely stood her ground near the door and batted at the red dot for a little while. Hisses inevitably came from both of them and I ended the session, but they had a solid 10 minutes before that happened.I am optimistic that this might be the breakthrough we have been needing and can't recommend this product enough for anxious cats, especially at such a small cost. I will update as things progress!

WARNING! NOT BREAKAWAY! MY CAT GOT SERIOUSLY INJURED!!
I bought this a couple of months ago but just recently tried it. I wish I could return it but it's too late. Although All things considered it's really the least of my worries. I have to say that it did instantly calm him. Until the horrific event took place.Well I'm partly to blame because I saw it wasn't a breakaway collar and I used it anyway. I was desperate to calm my terror of a cat down. I did make sure to keep my cat in the same room I was in so if something happened I would be right there. Unfortunately, I fell asleep when disaster struck. Thank God he was near enough to me that his frantic scrambling woke me. Even though I had adjusted the collar for the manufacturers directions, somehow he had worked his lower teeth into it and it was caught on his lower jaw. HE WAS TERRIFIED of course, flailing about, and ended up DISLOCATING HIS JAW!I feel like an idiot for ever using it, but I looked at all the reviews and I couldn't find anybody else who had a safety problem. I had figured that he would be okay with me in the room and there was nothing for him to get caught on and strangle.PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS FOR YOUR CAT!Seller! Make these as breakaway colors! The only kind of collar a cat should ever wear! They get caught on things all the time and often strangle themselves. They are much more flexible than dogs with shorter jaws making it easier for them to work their mouth under it.This was an ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. And much worse for my cat! Not to mention the $1,500 vet bill!

Works great
I was at my whits end.... I got this little guy when he was 8 weeks old. With each successive month, he just became more aggressive. My vet suggested I try a calming collar. There was an affect fairly soon when I put it on him, but it really does take about 2 days to really notice a difference. It's now been about 2 weeks and I could not be more pleased. He has become the enjoyable pet I was hoping for! Also love that it comes in gray rather than just bright colors.... and actually the best priced collar on Amazon. Definitely ordering more!

Worth a shot!
We moved across the country and our 2 kitties were really traumatized by the experience. One especially would not come out of hiding and was super anxious. The calming collar seemed to make him less anxious and a bit more social. I would recommend it, it’s worth a try. The smell is quite strong at first but it’s not unpleasant and my cat didn’t seem bothered. You cut it to fit your cat’s neck.My one complaint is the square plastic piece the collar threads through is VERY sharp on al 4 edges. I can’t imagine what that would feel like against skin. I would think it could cause wounds. My husband filed the edges down for safety. This was present on all 3 collars. Be careful!
