I'm not sure what material it is, but only the straps are leather. Also, when they say "small" they mean small! I managed to get a mascara, a concealer, a lipstick, a couple of small eye-shadow containers and an eye-shadow stick. More would be too difficult to find anything. It's too short to put my concealer brush or eye-shadow brushes in it. So kind of disappointed.
