12 Pcs Stainless Steel Deck Railing Brackets Connectors for 2"x4" (Actual 1.5"x3.5") Railing Wood Post (Black)

I just redid my 24 year old deck, had to replace the railing. The old railing was attached with only nails. have grandkids over every day I wanted to make sure the railing was strong and secure. I looked at thebrackets at the local box stores, I wasn't impressed with their selection. I searched the internet and found these brackets and gave them to my carpenter to install. My carpenter said this is the first time he used these brackets and he thinks they are the best he has used, not only is the quality super, but they look great. Sure they cost a little more than the box store brackets, but well worth it. He also said they were very easy to install.

They are very nice quality but the lower bracket has no hole to allow the water to escape which will lead to the wood rotting. I drilled in my own but it was not easy. The brackets are made of a much thicker steel than I would have expected.The upper bracket I had to notch a grove for the ballaster. Which wasn’t to bad.My spray coating won’t hold up as long but it got the job done.

The brackets were well made and were easy to use. Using these mounts made our deck stairs turn out really nice, much better than toe-nailing the railings to the 4x4 posts.

High quality, worked out very well.

I used these to create an accent wall on one side of my pergola with 5” gaps between each board. They were so easy to put up and level the boards. I love that they are black powder coated, they look great against the unstained/ unpainted pressure treated wood. Nice addition to the pergola and had many compliments.

The brackets worked beautifully. However, about a third of the screws broke as they were being screwed in.

Finish seems good and robust during installation. There is a little scallop in the open corner that I did not see in the pictures I prefer it did not have, but pretty small. Metal is thick and strong, cleanly welded, definitely overkill. I plan to leave the screws out so my railings can be lifted out of the brackets, and these should work well.
