Q: I saw reviews saying the plastic cover tore when he slid it on, how can I assemble it better without it tearing?

Make sure the frame is pressed together enough to allow the cover to slip on with ease,it is not tear. But I tore mine the first time I put it together because I was trying to pull it over the frame when the frame wasn't as small as it would get.

Q: Is this aeration hose really self-sinking?

This hose is much cheaper than Airmax, so I bought one with skepticism. It is made of a heavy rubber,the quality is better than I expected. The tube is indeed self-sinking and attaches perfectly to my aerator. I will repurchase.

Q: Can it really effectively isolate contaminants?

This still air box is very helpful for keeping clean and isolating microorganisms/fungi, and is perfect for fungal experiments.

Q: Could you use a small heat mat in it to help up the air temp?

I don’t know what the purpose of adding heat is but you could just put it under it if you really wanted to warm the air.
