I really like this jacket for going on walks with my dogs ...
I really like this jacket for going on walks with my dogs at night -- it makes me very visible to any cars that drive by, and during the day, it makes me visible at the side of the road. It has high quality worksmanship and it's definitely waterproof. I live in an area where it rains over 90" a year -- most of that in the winter. I have a fisherman's type of long raincoat that I wear in heavy rain, but this one has worked well too when paired with a pair of rainproof pants or overalls. It works just as well as my long raincoat and is more comfortable and breathable. Very high quality, and it fits me, though the sleeves are long (who cares?) because I'm a woman, and it's made for men. Everything works on it, and it keeps me dry, which is exactly what it should do. It makes you look like a big neon lemon, but I'd rather have cars see me on the road when I walk. This one does the trick. It's one of my favorites and I wear it almost every day even in the summer. Cuts the wind, too, for summer use on windy days. I highly recommend this jacket. I'm thinking of buying another one just to have it when this one eventually wears out.

Soaks Through
Not waterproof, probably a defect but it soaks through very quick (within minutes of being in the rain) and almost everywhere.

Great jacket
Granted I bought my jacket locally, I just wanted to say that this jacket does the job well. Here in Colorado we have experienced several days straight of just rotten rain storms. Yesterday (Friday) in particular my city received almost 4 inches of rain in one hour. This coat held up, kept me dry and allowed me to be safe while working outside in and around moving traffic. This jacket definitely lives up to the Carharrt standard and name. I would recommend this to anyone.
