Fashion and Lifestyle Photography: Secrets of perfect fashion & lifestyle photography

I was expecting a book that went into the details of fashion photography with great ideas on lighting, poses, etc. While the book has some of this, it's very basic. This is yet another photography book explaining aperature, ISO, and shutter speed. I was looking for something way more advanced than photography 101. It's also completely Nikon focused, which is not very helpful when you are not shooting on a Nikon. On top of this, there is hardly any explanation of how the photos in the book were taken. A small blurb (literally 1-2 sentences), but nowhere near the level of detail required to recreate the shot or one like it.If you have never picked up a camera and want an intro to some fashion photography basics, this might be a good book for you. If you are looking for a masterclass in getting to the next level, don't waste your money.

This is a great book with a lot of information on how to be a fashion photographer.While the author devotes the first three chapters aimed at beginning photographers, the remaining book explainsessential fashion photography skills such as lighting, building a team and shooting a job from beginning to the end.She shares experiences on actual shoots which are valuable.. There are few books on fashion photography on Amazon and hers adds a lot of information not available. Overall, well worth the price.

Dixie has a great style and this book shows it. Like most books that try to cover a wide range of experience levels from its readers the book is great in some areas and a bit basic in others. I do recommend the book.

I'm already a fan of Dixie's, so I pre-ordered this book when I first heard about it. My copy just arrived, and it is great. It's full of beautiful images which would be enough, but it also has lots of text and write-ups explaining everything. Well done, Dixie!

Brilliant book for people interested in how professional photographers go about their work. Lots of information about what is important when shooting modern lifestyle images. As a Nikon professional, I love the detail of the cameras and lenses she uses. The book is bang-up-to-date and a great read.Dixie Dixon is a terrific photographer, full of enthusiasm and vitallity. The photographs in her book are beautifully produced.

Very good value for money and very informative book on fashion / Lifestyle photograpghy useful resource for expanding diversity in photography. Recommend it.

Book Content is Excellent, worth reading for every upcoming Photographer, Writing style and step by step explanation is Awesome. After seeing Joe McNeil’s Comments, I have bought this book. His credibility of words proved a lot.Book handling is not proper by the supplier, small wear and tears in the corners & bit un tidy
