Impressive
This is my first communications I've ever used on my bike, but I've gotta say, I'm impressed. The sound quality is great. I haven't given it the one-mile test yet, but it worked great at over a quarter-mile. My wife and I did a 600 mile trip from home up into the mountains and down the Devil's Highway US666 (191 now). It was nice to be able to warn her about the elk and fallen trees. The 9,100 foot elevation didn't bother the unit at all. The batteries lasted the five hours each leg of our trip.Several suggestions though:1. Send users to the phone app right away. It was frustrating to try to remember all the button combinations to configure things. The "Hey Sena" commands had a worse time recognizing me than Alexa. I need to try them more, but I haven't worn a helmet in years and have to sit at my desk and try it I guess.2. I've tried three different helmets (Shoei RF-1100, RF-1200 & some older Shoei) and it was difficult to mount the ear pads in all three. Two of the Shoei helmets were newer and had an indented area for speakers, but they weren't deep enough and caused a little pain after a while. I'll have to cut into the helmet to set the speakers a little deeper.3. More on mounting the speakers: I had to cut some of the lining to get the speaker cables from the mounting unit into the helmet. The speaker cables merge into a single USB looking connector that you can disconnect from the main unit. I have no idea how to swap out those speakers for something I can insert, or something flatter. The unit came with three different mics, but I like the boom it had already on the main unit. Even with ear plugs in (to stop the helmet wind noise), the speakers worked great.

Weak speakers
Speakers are not the best. Hard to hear at highway speeds in a full face helmet.

Good quality, might need software update
Purchased dual pack as a gift for bf and brother. We love the sleek, tech design but it needed an update to be able to get the audio boost. The volume seemed low at first and found about the audio boost on a forum. The process was not very user friendly and that is why I gave it a three stars. The device itself is easy to use, but Sena’s Utility application and website support are not very good. The devices we purchased had to have the software updated and we were able to do it with a MacBook although at first the device was not being recognized. There were no helpful instructions on Sena’s website but we were able to find a post on a forum and completed the update. Audio boost definitely worked worked and overall we are happy with the device. We love the quality of sound (after update), install is fairly easy and device is modern and great to have.

Product is a well made, overpriced and not worth the money.
dag nabbit. WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY THe heck is there not a mute button in bluetooth mode. $500 !!!! AND NO MUTE!!. Let's start with what I am riding. I have a 2012 Harley Ultra with the 13in windshield. THATS A BIG WINDSHIELD PEOPLE!!!. I have a 3/4 helmet where there is eye protection that slides down from the top of the helmet ( like a fighter pilot) so from my nose down is open ( but there is a HUGE windshield). When I called my lovely wife she said it was crystal clear. She even asked if the bike was running ( I have Vance and Hines pipes on there). So it worked great. Up to 50 MPH the sound was great. After 50 she heard the wind but said I was still very audible. Over 60, no good. (which I figured would be there case for open helmet). Today I picked up my daughter on the bike. First time using the Bluetooth head set on the bike ( verses using it in the living room or calling the wife on the phone option). I can hear myself in the speakers ( which can be turned off if so desired). She has the same helmet as I do. We heard wind as soon as I hit 40MPH. It never stopped unless we stopped. I will say this, the speakers are pretty darn loud. I have to lower them from full volume bc they are that loud. I have the speakers mounted in the helmet without ear pads or formal place for the ear buds. Yeah, that loud. I tried messing with the VOX settings. Bringing it from 3 to 1 and then up to 5. It made no difference. Still heard wind. Furthermore, no mute. I am sorry. But I bought these so 2x bikes ( 4 riders) can talk. Which is a great concept but sometimes. I have nothing to say. I just want the option to hit a button and speak. That way I can listen to my music (either through the headset or through the bike speakers, my choice) and sing. Yes you heard me, sing. I have no idea how many of you people ride and sing. I sure as heck do. In fact I am singing like i am in a concert as the main performer. What I do not want it my other party members hearing that. So, I need a mute button. I sent an Email to tech support and got a response the next day. I generic one that did absolutely nothing other than send me the on line manual. So I called the tech support and got ( a rather rude) lady who plainly told me. There is absolutely no mute and no wind/noise control. Which, on the phone interface for the headset, shows that there is a VOX 1-5 setting but that does nothing. Since I hit the topic of the APP for my android. I had to download three apps. One is for the general overall settings, one is for the 30k (bc the general only has up to 20s) and then there is the group chat. horrible design. The app ratings were 2.3.. I thought it was low, it is not. It is a horrible interface design. The MESH mode has a function for mute but it is not very user friendly at all. I am still trying to pair the MESH mode and get into a private chat. It is finicky. Oh, on the note of finicky, the ONLY command that works is " Hello Sena" and I get a " please say a command" and it will not take any commands. So it cancels the voice command. I did not care too much for that so it did not bother me.I bought the 2 pack ($500). BT and MESH pairing is a breeze. Very very easy. And the JOG dial is a very nice feature. I WANT this to work and I need it do. But this, for $500, is SO not worth the money. For that price it should be much better. Sorry Sena but this is getting returned. I am going to have to look into the SCALA product. UGH.!!!!!!!

Great price, Great product
I have wanted one of these for a long time. Decided on the 30k rather than the 20 because the prices were the same, or nearly so. Installed it (incorrectly at first) and love it. Really wanted it for navigation and the sound is loud enough for me to hear through y ear plugs. Have not used it for the phone yet, but I have listened to music with it while riding. I will not do that again as I cannot hear traffic noise with the music playing. I love this unit.

Sena 30K
My Sena 20s lasted 4 years, bought this to replace it. Audio quality is on par with the 20S and the battery life is also same, 8.5 hours on mesh with music playing. Mesh works seamlessly. After being on the fence with the packtalks, this was definite a good choice. Bass is good. You have to kill the wind noise, gotta wear earplugs. Volume with earplugs could be a bit higher, but no issues at highway speeds. Charges fast.

work good
They work good if you are close to the person you are talking to. With a full charge they will reach around 1/2 mile. But when battery starts to run low they will reach about 100 yards. Have had some trouble with them disconnecting randomly. Not the easiest to set up but when you get them linked up they work pretty well. The quality of a phone call threw them is outstanding tho! No wind noise at all when at highway speeds.

Not at all user friendly
I'm not sure if I'm getting old and dumb, or if technology is smarter than I can keep up.I REALLY wanted to love this, the people who got it to work loves it.Here is my experience. After fiddling around a bit, I was able to get the software updated to 4.0.4 the latest version, but when I tried to update the mesh to 2.0, neither device was recognized. I used win 7 and win 10, spend 2 full days online and in practice to try and figure it out. Some people are saying you need to docking station for it to update, well that cost almost 200.00 and from what can tell only has mini usb,NOT type C which is what this version of the 30k uses. (FYI there are at least 2 versions of this device and they are not the sameI have put up qith senas non-intutive devices for over 15 years, I am sad to say, this will be emy last sena product. I will have to go to another com company.I returned it, I'll continue to use my 10c Pro... although I'm not able to update that firmware anymore either, so we'll see how that goes...If you choose to buy and can get it to work GREAT! Sadly I'm just not going to "figure out how to use it" anymore Sena needs more customer service and better instructions.

still dabbling with the features but looks promising
Received within 3 days . Exactly as expected. I selected the 30K over the other Sena mainly to talk to my wife when we ride together so the issue between the 30's cutting off the music when used with other 20's or 10's won't apply. My research seemed to imply Sena is going all out on the Mesh intercom , so we decided to go for the newer options. I will need to spend more time to figure out the way to upload the updates and adjust the sounds of the GPS and music when used simultaneously with the mesh intercom but all in all, it looks promising. We went for a ride yesterday and the Mesh intercom worked very well. It practically started to work as soon as the switch was put on. We have modular helmets, the ride out picked up some wind chatter over the mics but we seem to have corrected the issue by turning the end of the wand mic away from our mouth. The inside area around the mouth in my helmet resonates well enough that turning the mic actually removed all wind or breath chatter and we could hear each other very well , even at high speeds. I am entirely satisfied. When my phone GPS gives voice directions , the entire intercom cuts off but I am hopefull I will correct this with adequate settings, all I need to do is give it more attention and time to figure out. Regardless, for me, the intent was to talk to my passenger and it has done the job with honors.
