The window guard is as described and pictured, installation was simple if you go into the window sill (wood). But into the frame itself requires some tools and skill that I didn't have but it's important to make sure it's done correctly to meet the states requirements. I do love that it swings open so I can install my window A/C in the summer without completely removing the guard. Also be mindful of the clearance for the part that swings out. Other than that no complaints here.

I had to return this item because it was not high enough and actually too wide to work on my larger front window of my apartment.....so I ended up returning for a "full refund". But, they are pretty well built and would do the job if my window was a perfect fit. They do have a hinged 'quick release' mechanism on it.

Simple installation and provides piece of mind for security purposes.

There were very few options for fire escape window security bars that mount inside a window frame and swing open.This one gives you the option to mount inside the frame or on the outside of the frame.Of note there is no lock or securing mechanism for the door to stay in the frame you need a lock or something else to secure them.I got the five bar option and my window is 31 inches tall, I hung a few inches off the bottom and the top somewhere in the middle. My boyfriend said it’s possible a really skinny person could try to slide underneath 🫤 so maybe some more measuring when ordering to factor someone going above or below the bars.Installation wasn’t complicated but we needed a metal drill bit for the window frame and different screws. The ones that came with worked on a few holes but didn’t on others and got stripped right away so it was good we picked up some sheet metal screws.All in all this is perfect for my apt window for security and peace of mind. It seems solid and installed the way I needed it. Priced moderately at $60 I think it’s good value for a solid security bar and not as ridiculously priced as something custom especially if I decide to leave it behind when I move.

I ordered a security gate from this company andit was shipped expeditiously. I was only taken aback by the gate having a dent where you put the locking tab through.
