just what I ordered
This/these items are just what the dept. of Fish and Game insist I use while fishing along parts of the Merced River. I have used these lores many times last year and will use them again this year. I have yet to catch more than a rash that looked a lot like poison oak! And yet, I also have not gotten a ticket for using the wrong bait when approached by the Game warden (twice) last season! So, perfect for following the law... still working on if I can catch a fish on them! Thank you!

Good barbless lure option
I hooked this bluegill on my third cast after opening the package. I like these because there's less chance of "gilling" or doing other unneeded harm to a fish thanks to the lack of a barb. Sure, some fish might get away that would've been caught with a barbed hook, but this is great for catch-and-release or if you just want to introduce some sport to pond fishing.

Blame the angler not the lure.
Learn to use barbless hooks quit being so negative people it makes you a better angler to learn how to use different methods. What if you go on a trip and find out you cant use barbs? Well you got these learn how to use them how to set them how to land those fish........ LEARN and PRACTICE at one point you are going to have to, don’t get complacent..... tight lines y’all. These guys are awesome.

t's obviously not junk, it just doesn't work.
This is a hard review to write because I really wanted these lures to be good. I fish creeks, so when the top water is most active and fun it eats treble hooks. Unfortunately, they don't work. I got multiple strikes both on top water and running them under the water, but could not get the hook to set. It's quite possible that this is user error, but lets remember that these are marketed as an easy to use lure for children. I'm a fairly experiencing fisherman, fish multiple times a week during the nice weather systems and have caught my biggest bass on a top water fly popper so if I can't make it work it's not a pick up and fish lure the way they claim. Two notes about possible modifications:1. The hook is pointed up. On almost all fly poppers there's a downward set hook. It could be possible that on top water a downward hook equates to more hook ups and bending the hook to a downward angle may fix the issue. However, the hook doesn't freely move so I'm unsure of how serious a modification this is.2. The hook almost seems closed as if the tip itself is pointing directly at the body...Not that extreme, but in that direction. I think it's possible that if you were to bend the hook back a bit it would result in more hook ups.I don't know...If I try it and it works I'll come back and change this, but right away I don't think I should need to modify lures so I don't really like them.My other problem is the action is goofy. On the original rebel grasshopper there was a splashing action on top of the water, but on these they all just work like top water crankbaits. That was a bit disappointing and means in my head that yet another aspect of the lure needs to be modified to make it practical. All of these modifications are maybes. I have no evidence yet to say it will work, but I have plenty of evidence to know I don't like these lures. I don't hate them because if I can say one thing about them it's that they're pretty. It's obviously not junk, it just doesn't work.

Barbless!!
These are barbless hooks but not obvious when you order. When they arrived they had a huge sticker on them that said barbless but not when you are ordering. The hook is pointed up and with the combination of the barbless it’s near impossible to land the fish. Completely disappointed

Missing one of three lures
I read a previous review where the person complained that only two of the three lures showed up. I thought (foolishly) that it wouldn't happen to me as well but it did. In fact the package appeared to have been opened to remove one of the lures prior to shipping.
