Philip's RGS Atlas of the World (Philip's World Atlas)

I bought this atlas for my brother who is very ill at the moment, spending most of his time in bed. He loves maps, so I thought this would be ideal. I checked the size of the book, it seemed larger than some others, so I imagined it would have clear mapping. It has lots of information in it, and he loved it. The only thing that was a surprise to me was the weight of it! It is very heavy! He is very pleased with it though, and I hope it helps him pass the time.

Thank you Philips for producing this highly informative and excellent Atlas that cover everything from highly detailed satellite images of various cities and areas from around the world to a very informative Gazetteer Of Nations that give you a brief but interesting summary of the nations that make up the world we all live in.Then we come to the World Geography section that covers everything from the solar system to standards of living and new to this edition it has a section dedicated to the Covid 19 virus that continues to effect the world today then we move on to the World Cities tht has detailed urban and city centre plans of most of the important major cities of the world and places of interest in them then last but not least the highly detailed and clear geographical maps that are up to Philip's high standard which are useful references for both adult school children and other students alike all in all this Atlas would make a great gift for someone or for your self.In my photo my edition sits alongside my 2001 edition.

The first copy appeared to be damaged so ordered a replacement but this is similar; the inside covers are quite badly glued making them look almost water damaged.Other than that, this is a weighty tome with huge quantities of very up to date data; I’ve already spent hours looking up all sorts.It’s expensive, even at the discounted rate here but it’s definitely the kind of book you just can’t replicate on-line.

I had always wanted a good atlas, and this one is an atlas on steroids. A bit heavy to read in bed, admittedly, but it really is jam-packed with information and is very well written. Treat yourself!

A gift for my father in law, we all spent a little time flicking through this book. It is so beautiful, comprehensive and informative. A bargain.

I’d seen an earlier one & this one seems superior.
