Yeoman Fruit Picker Attachment

Since I have access to several pear trees with fruit out of reach, I found this gadget very useful indeed. It is more robust than many others on the market and should last through several more harvests. That said, one does have to be a little patient as getting the fruit to come off and drop into the bag does require a bit of skill. However, without it our harvest would have been far smaller. All in all, a very good buy.

Great for picking apples. I fixed it to the end of a wooden rod which I had lying around in my garage. The only negative I'd mention is that whilst it works fine for apples (which are very dense and tough-skinned), it didn't work as well for pears (with much softer skin). With the pears, it had a tendency to damage the skin, or rip off the top of the pear together with the stalk.

This works very well, and is sturdy enough to last for years. It's so simple I wasn't sure it would cope with our taller fruit trees - but it's a case of simple is best. I'm neither tall nor muscly, but I have no trouble using it.

I am sorry to say that this fruit picker has bent on its first use. The metal is much too weak at the point where the grabber joins onto the shaft. Bending it back will not work because it would very soon break off completely.Also I do not like this design because one cannot see the fruit. I had an old grabber made from heavy wire which was far better but the plastic bag deterioated. I wish that I could get a new bag for this one.The Yeoman product is completely useless. One star is too much already but I did not have the option of "none".classical-vv

After many years I finally broke my apple picker attachment so I purchased this oneas a replacement.It fitted perfectly onto my Yeoman telescopic fruit picker pole.It is stronger with 4 good rivets holding the bag.The bag and diameter are also larger and better than the original.I see no reason why this should not last many years.

Better than the original head attachment. The pop rivetted joint between the basket and the head is still a weakness (have already had to repair one side with self tapping screws). Still at the price, I can't complain.

It works well. Sadly the fruit tree on which this picker was used was felled in the storm a few weeks later. Never mind, we planted another one last year so we live in hope!
