Probable DOA...
Haven't got it to work yet however, I am not completely done installing drivers. It states plus and play with no drivers or manual and nothing registers in disk management or in Bios. Basically, as of now a brick and I'm out of my return window because the build took a bit more time than expected so that sucks. I will update if it magically starts working.

Be careful
The card is very fast, but the Asmedia drivers have major issues for Windows 7. In my case, Asmedia drivers loaded, but caused a BSOD on boot. OS would no longer boot, and LKC did not work, nor did safe mode. Luckily I was able to restore from a backup, or it wouldve been a disaster. The regular MS AHCI does seem to work fine. This ones going back though just because of the trouble it caused.

Initial test results are promising
Single-disk performance is impressive. Using the same SSD and cable it surpasses the onboard motherboard SATAIII in some situations, so I'll have to look into what's up with that. With six good SSDs you could saturate the PCIe bus as it will be capped to a little under 16Gbps. I don't have six matching fast SSDs available to test in RAID0 to see where that limit actually lands, but I don't like the idea of using software-RAID0 anyway. For just adding a bunch of disks, it should work well as long as you don't need intense simultaneous I/O on more than a few disks at once.

Failed
Everything seemed great at first. But it failed in less than 24 hours after being installed. Was loading some files onto drives using this and out of nowhere my computer froze. Rebooted and no drives plugged into it are recognized now. Luckily, I should be able to recover the data from the drives, but this card is dead and I’m returning it. Just glad it happened within the return window. Don’t buy this.

Easy Plug & Play
This is a great option for adding SATA ports to your PC or upgrading to SATA III. This is a perfect solution if you're building your own NAS, especially if you're using multiple smaller drives and are looking to create a larger storage pool. In addition to the card itself, it comes with 6 SATA data cables. Performance was good in my testing. I set a two separate arrays in my software NAS - one one a 4 disk RAIDZ2 pool for primary storage, and another mirrored pair for backup. I had no issues running all 6 drives at once and performance was good, although I do admit that my backups run overnight when I'm not actively using it so I'm able to sacrifice any performance limitations that might occur by running all of this through a single PCI card. All in all this is a good value and I'd recommend it with no hesitation.

Good card for JBOD...
I picked this up because I occasionally have need of a SATA expansion card for file server maintenance and wanted something that wasn't as dodgy as the eons old HiPoint adapter I've used in the past. This card 6 SATA3 6Gbps interfaces attached via PCIe x4 Gen3. It supports 4 different software raid modes - RAID-1 (mirroring), AHCI, SPAN, and RAID-0 (striping). There's no "hardware" raid on this card.I only use cards like this in JBOD mode - 'firmware' raid raid is bunk and if you value your data you shouldn't rely on it for any real-world workloads.

Perfect for adding more usb's
Perfect solution for adding more connections into your computer, super easy to install and with windows and Linux auto driver locators the driver was installed and we were up and running with in minutes.
