Bought this sushi making kit ngl I was a bit hesitant at first. To my surprise it’s incredible easy to use, easy to clean, has an incredible sushi recipe book, and has made my dinning out budget decrease. So much fun! Best 14$ I’ve ever spent on Amazon. Can work great for a gift. The only con is the rolling mat is a little shorter than normal nori, which is a bit annoying but for 14$ take my money! 9/10🙂

I wanted to like this, as it seemed like a good idea. I have a sushi take-out business and I'm always looking for items to make my job faster or easier, and this seemed like it might fit the bill. In reality, it may be fine for someone who likes to make a few rolls for dinner every couple of months, but if you make sushi regularly, a bamboo mat is the way to go... sturdier and way more control, plus they're the right size for the job. This mat is just too flimsy and small, and is actually smaller than a normal seaweed sheet. Even after several tries, I couldn't get a roll that was the same diameter throughout its length. The spatula was okay, but doesn't beat a good bamboo paddle. And the cutter is just way too big. It might be a great idea if it was smaller and actually fit around a normal, average roll, and making it from clear plastic would have been a huge improvement, as it would allow you to see the roll inside. Anyway, if you're serious about rolling sushi, spend the money on a bamboo mat and bamboo tools. This is okay if you just want the occasional roll, but not for serious sushi makers.

Fun Christmas gift for my boys 12&13 who live sushi. A little more user friendly than the bamboo mats IMO, especially for kids to get the hang of, the cutting tool made it super easy. The silicone mat was a bit easier to roll.Have done California, spicy tuna and salmon rolls. Make sure you get sushi grade fish!!Great product and definitely giftable🤩.

My mat came without a template or guide. According to comments, it is mostly useless anyway. Aside from this one problem, I found the kit fairly easy to use. Gauging how much rice to spread is tricky, but I think that with practice, i will be able to make rolls that are tight and attractive. the item arrived in good shape and within a few days.
