Heavy duty
Pros: sturdy, seems durable, great lower foot protection, fair price point, warm while wading in cold ocean surf.Cons: heavy as heck, sizing is not that accurate, the zipper gets jammed with sand, and the lower portion of the foot is really the only protected area… the ankle area is only made of neoprene and certainly leaves me feeling exposed to potential stingray barbs. So, I do a lot of metal detecting in knee deep surf here on the west coast and there are a surprising number of stingray around me at any given time, along with other swimming critters. I never realized it until I started shining my headlamp into the water at night.I’ve used these several times and they are nice for keeping my feet warmer in the ocean water for prolonged hunts, however they are an absolute burden when they start filling up with sand. It’s like walking with lead plates on the soles of your shoes. So I’ve gotta stop occasionally and dump the sand and water out (especially when trekking back up to the beach)The biggest problem has been sand jamming the zipper, making it difficult to take off.I’m giving a 4 star because they could stand a bit more protection up the side of the foot and ankles without having to add a full on shin guard system, but the price point on these is fair and they do add protection to the lower foot etc.The zipper is robust, and I know from an engineering standpoint, sand just makes things problematic, but maybe some kind of strapping system that could double as ankle protection?Hope this was helpful!

Rugged Reef Boots but Still Fairly Lightweight
Very durable and rugged reef boots with thick soles that wrap up the side of the foot, easily protecting from sea urchins, sharp reef, rocks and other hazards. Heavyweight protection while still being fairly lightweight. Outperforms other neoprene booties and shoes. Ideal for bonefish fishing on Hawaiian reefs and flats. I wear a size 10 in all shoes and ordered a size 10 in these - they are slightly loose, maybe by 1/2 a size, which is why I prefer wearing thick sand socks with the boots. Recommended!

Great for muddy river but not rock
Look, this was a great fit and easy to put on and take off but boy it was like walking on ice if you're wading through rocky area. I was trying not to fall constantly and it was a horrible fishing experience. It's great if you're just fishing lake or muddy area but don't fish these if you planned to fish anywhere near rocks.I do recommend it if you like surf fishing. But if you want to do any other kind of fishing... don't buy this.

Too heavy
Seemed durable but way too heavy

Ok but will do the job.
Heavy and clunky. Footbed is not smooth inside but with neoprene wading sock feels ok. Sizing a bit large but again wading sock compensates. Good as a spare/backup.
