The River’s Edge: MM Romantic Suspense

I felt I saw the river and it's murkiness. The sense of unease and frustration as the MCs tried to get away was palpable and the way they kept circling back to where they had started from was really spooky. Gino and Shane didn't know each other - just stumbled into each other in this other worldly place.The weird man in the boat, the people who appear and the dank and rotting pier started to give me clues as to what was going on, but it was interesting to watch them discover it for themselves.Did they find salvation?, in a way they do - you'll have to read it to find out.This story has hung around in my mind for a long time after I finished it, which is always a sign that it was a very good book.

When Gino wakes up on a gravel riverbed, head thumping, he knows he's been 'dumped' by boss Carmine.Then a panicked yelling by a cute young guy Shane, who then throws up blood and a silver dollar, changes, makes him wonder what the hell is going on.The reader connects the dots before the MCs.This is poignant, sort of sweet and a little scary.
