To start with this cage is a total nightmare to put together. The sides fall apart when unclipped to clean it.This cage was described as big enough for a Syrian but mine is only a couple of month and can touch roof from standing. The wheels are too small as well. My Syrian is bent in two.This cage would be lovely for a dwarf but still a total pain to clean.I broke one panel trying to get plastic cover in hole also broke clip to house before hamster could even try it. The house provided is tiny and might be comfortable for a dwarf.Gutted it's not suitable for my baby Syrian. Looks good just not practical

Don’t recommend the cage was not durable at all and very messy my hamster had the substrate everywhere it is very hard to clean it out (you basically have to take the whole cage apart just to clean it properly) the water bottle that it came with didn’t work properly so I had to buy another one to use also the wheel is very weak and feels like it’s going to snap any minute, the tunnels were also very weak, and my hamster could not fit in the small hide that came with it.The cage is very easy for your hamster to escape from my hamster escaped multiple times and very often by just pushing open the door and chewing out one of the tube covers.It’s is really not a good value for money and I wish I had sent it back when I still could will not be buying this ever again and don’t recommend it to anyone!

Fiddly to assemble the first time, but once done it's ok, as long as you make sure you have the parts the right way round.

This cage is not terrible quality, and may do the job, depending on your application.The cage assembly is easy enough to understand, but the whole thing is held together by 6 not too sturdy looking plastic clips which take a fair bit of force to persuade to go on and come off. They make me nervous that they will break; although they are still intact a month later. The feel of the assembled cage is such that my partner calls me 'brave' to carry it by the handle, but there is no fear the hamster can escape.I bought this to house 2 dwarf hamsters which need to be separated, so the idea was they would have a level each. The problem with that is the top level hardly has a lip on it, and the sides are bars, so any sawdust and bedding is kicked out of the cage. This is not a sustainable situation, so I removed the top section so it is now just a single level cage - which it does an OK job.Cleaning means totally disassembly as once the top is removed, the sides fall down.

Great cage for a hamster. Only issue is it's a little flimsy and a pain to clean as falls apart. Other than that our hamsters seems very happy.

The cage arrived promptly but was unfortunately damaged - just a small crack in the base. The seller sent a replacement part but it took a few days to get it sorted. It would have been helpful to have had a phone number to contact them on rather than having to communicate by email, especially as they only check their emails once a day apparently (in the morning). Once this was resolved my husband set to building the cage - what a nightmare! He is a whizz at constructing flat pack furniture but this took him 2 hours! Now fully constructed and 3 mice installed, it looks great and they seem to be enjoying themselves running up and down the tubes and round in the wheels. However cleaning the cage has also proven to be a challenge! If you lift the top off, the sides fall down, and likewise if you try unclipping the base, the whole thing falls apart. It is completely impractical! We have decided to sell it and get a much simpler and sturdier cage. Overall I would not recommend this cage.

We bought this as it was recommended by someone that rescues hamsters, but it’s awful! Just in the first build I snapped one clip and I was being very gentle. After a couple of cleans they’d probably all be broken. Tricky to build with very unclear instructions. And as soon as you lift off the top, the sides just fall out?! Not very safe at all. Do not buy - after looking online, many people suggest a good size fish tank is better. Fill it with shavings for them to dig in, a free standing wheel and some tubes. I wish I’d done more research first and saved my money.

We've housed many hamsters in this cage with no issue but feel that we should warn others of a couple issues that have come to light with our latest furry friend (a male syrian called Joey). He's escaped from this cage on 3 separate occasions in the last two months:1st He chewed a wall plug all around the edges to the point he just popped it off and climbed out - we have now taped all of them to the sides so that even if he tries chewing it again (which he already is) he won't escape that way2nd He opened the cage door by himself (an issue we've had over a range of cages). You can try pushing the metal catch down a little bit to get it back to it's original position or tie it with sandwich ties as we have.3rd He pushed the bed chamber open as it is quite loose and needs an elastic band to keep shut. He managed to chew through the air holes and break the elastic band securing it.He is a very crazy hamster and if you ever need a hamster cage escape tester - we have the right hamster for you!!We just wanted to warn any future customer that these risk come with this cage. Otherwise, apart from the escape risk, this cage is lovely spacious and practical!
