After a recent 500+ mile trip during which one of my vehicles decided to light up the MIL on the dash, and I had to visit an auto parts store just to borrow a code reader and know how serious it was (turned out it could wait), I decided maybe I should just put a code reader in cars we travel out of town with. Got ready to buy a couple of additional handhelds plus put my old one in the car that cough up codes, and spotted this. Decided if it works, it would be way better.And turns out it is. Why? I can leave it there full time, then if an MIL light comes on, I just pull out my phone and read the code on the spot. No stopping, getting out the reader from the trunk, hooking it up, and seeing what's up. But turns out this little jewel does way more, with a slew of real time info you can check from your smartphone.Definitely the way to go. And of course, if it is an MIL and you read the code, it also then tells you more info about what that means, and probably cause(s). I'm still exploring what all this can do, like set alarms for coolant temp and not to exceed speed, give info on battery status and charging, read O2 sensors. It is a long list. And you can save info in reports for later. It does anything the better OTBII readers do except detailed electrical system resets and settings you only get on expensive boxes.Two notes if you get one: I'd recommend you change the search engine for code info from Baidu (China) to Google. Then go to the alarm settings to switch from ºC to ºF (if you want). That second suggestion took me a while to figure out how to change. Its not where you would first guess.So then I bought three more. One each for three cars that do periodic to frequent out-of-town trips, where you hope you don't see an MIL light, but if you do, better to know what it means on the spot. And one more to give to longtime friend for his trip driving car. At this price, grab a few and give them to you friends. Seriously good to have on any car that supports ODBII.Until the day comes you can just punch up what an MIL means on every car's LCD screen, this gives you that info at your fingertips in real time, on the spot, while driving. I'll never be without one on a future trip. MILs can show up at anytime, so good to know if its "super serious - park it and shut it off now", or can wait until you get back home. Awesome deal, these do anything the other dongles like this being sold by others do, but at a fraction of their price. Definitely a steal of a deal!

I needed to check some codes out after I did some work on. Y vehicle and this is a life saver, and wallet saver. I can do it myself and save the cost of a service tech getting my money instead.

Very easy to plug and play this device but there is little to no explanation in the manual to explain functionality. It’s probably capable of many things but so far I’m unable to find anything useful. I bought it to diagnose an intermittent alternator issue and it does not pick up the error even though the battery icon flashes on the dash. It does read the system voltage accurately however.

None of the "good" apps, like Car Scanner would connect to it, so I used the App that was recommended in the owner's manual and it worked for a while. It is a very light and not very good app. Then the scanner started disconnecting and became useless within a few minutes of use. I would look elsewhere and make sure the scanner is ELM327 compatible.

Device connects to Bluetooth from inside the app. Easy to connect and remove, can be left in while driving, live monitor function. Works as advertised. App is easy to navigate.

I could not get it to work on 2008 Jeep Wrangler nor a 2017 Nissan Versa. I will try again due to the fact that I may have been doing something wrong. It says that it works with 95% of vehicles so maybe my vehicles fall in the 5% range.

Started using with the check engine light on. I think the vehicle has to go thru several drive cycles before reading the car correctly

The instruction has QR code to download APK, which you have to install on your phone. This is always risky when you don't get an app through the droid or apple store, but sometimes i like to live life dangerously. This thing worked fine and was way cheaper than alot of other options. I would recommend.
