Amazing Rod at an Unbelievable Price
I was looking for a new inshore rod to target Striped Bass in the summer. I generally catch bass in the 24 to 34 inch range in the summer during the off season and I like to throw smaller plugs and lures then during the migration months.I was looking for a MH or H casting rod in the 7 to 8 ft length with a M of MF taper. I came across this rod and it fit the bill nicely plus it was on sale for $32!I didn’t know what to expect when I ordered the rod, the pictures looked nice, but would the rod hold up to a 10 to 15lb bass? Or a bluefish? When I received the rod and held it in my hands, I could tell I was holding a quality rod, although I still had my doubts since the rod was so inexpensive. The reel seat is very nice, it holds the reel nice and tight and you don’t have to re-tighten it every few trips (like other inexpensive rods) The hand grips are super nice and comfortable and the rod is so light, I could hold it all day!Taking a closer look, the guides are real Fuji guides and are very very nice. Now, the guides on this rod are the new micro style guides- call me old school but I like big heavy duty guides. Heck I’m still using 20lb mono! This rod probably performs amazingly with braid. I also observed that the rod blank is really thin, particularly at the tip. Not exactly what I thought, BUT the Handing company offers a free 1yr warranty, if the rod breaks, they will replace it. So why not give it a try?So overall after my first impression, I gotta say this- this rod is not just another inexpensive rod- it’s a real quality rod that would probably sell for $150 or more.As far as performance- let’s just say that I was blown away. From my first trip out with this rod it has been Game On! I like EVERYTHING about this rod.First of all, if feels just right in your hands. When casting- the rod loads very nicely! I can cast some very light stuff maybe less then 1/2 oz very easily- and I was also casting some heavier plugs all the way up to 4oz! And it didn’t even feel like I was casting that heavy of a lure! The tip recovery is also very nice too.As far as action, it’s perfect. I couldn’t ask for more.I really got this rod to work some top water lures- and this rod is perfect for that! It’s also great for swimming lures too- and if very sensitive too! I was casting and catching with some jigs and I could feel everything, with mono too… using braid would probably be unbelievable!I was catching fish the first trip out with this rod. I was curious how it would feel, would I feel under gunned? To my surprise the rod worked flawlessly! The action feels real nice, it’s a very fun rod to catch fish with yet it also has enough backbone to control a fish when you need it. I was really impressed! I decided to give this rod a try at some bridge fishing. Generally I use heavier rods for this application and of course I’m using a bridge net too to bring the fish up. Anyways, this rod didn’t even hesitate, I was able to completely control the fish and get him netted and up the bridge single handed! (This is the fish in the picture)Over all- I gotta say you won’t be let down, for the price just give it a try! Even at the regular price of $50 this rod is still a great deal! Also, to add about the company, I had a few questions and I contacted the Handing company- they were very quick to reply and very helpful, knowledgeable and kind!Overall, I’m very pleased with this rod. It has quickly become one of my favorites!

Sought a BFS Specific Setup Without Breaking The Bank
I have been using baitcaster tells wrong for decades . I didn't know you're not really supposed to toss light stuff from a baitcaster but I mostly kayak fish in a non fishing kayak so carrying more than 1 rod combo has always been a super pain . What started as carrying my ultralight but losing fish because the line broke led me to carrying a 5' pistol grip Ugly....and basically free spooling light jigs and such on 15 pound braid. It wasn't the best thing, lots of birds nests and other frustrations but I never lost a fish due to line break again .I started reading about this new style of fishing called BFS and the more I read the more I wanted a rod/reel combo specifically for that style I could take advantage of brakes, magnets , thumbs , flicking , pitching , you name it with just 1 rod .I already had three reel I wanted , the line I wanted but wasn't sure about a rod without spending a gazillion bucks for something that might just be an occasional take along . I decided to try this one out and man am I glad I did .When I brought the box in the house I thought they'd forgotten to put anything in it because it was so friggin light . I opened the box and this rod case fell out when I turned it up . I'm thinking they sent me a carry sleeve instead of a rod . I opened the sleeve and a gorgeous rod was inside . I mean gorgeous . The thing wreaked quality . Once I got the reel attached and got out to the water I tried out several lures between 1/8oz and 1/16th oz and just wow the thing cast great . The balance was phenomenal .This thing has definitely become my light weight jig and plastics combination . It's a might long for my kayak so I'll continue to use my prior rod but with a BFS reel if I'm going into creeks with lots of overhang but for general kayak fishing this combo will be my take along , especially with its ability to break down into 2 pieces .If you want a rod that feels and looks like it'd cost a lot more than it does give this brand a serious look . If you're looking for a serious BFS(ish) rod this model is great for light weight stuff to cast a country mile while maintaining the accuracy you demand .Edit 11-9-23I purchased a second rod , this time medium light and it came broken in the sleeve . The replacement shipped out the next day , after I did a warranty exchange thingy with Amazon . The replacement arrived today , unbroken , and as much as I like the light/mf one I bought in the first place this one feels even better when tossing ultralight lures . The heaviest thing I tossed today was 1/8oz and it cast like a 1/4oz as far as balance and accuracy . I was even getting decent distance overhead with 1/16oz jigs , which I NEVER can do . The broken broke right at the 3rd eye and I'm torn between keeping it as a sub 6er for close in casting , since they don't offer sub 6' or getting a refund . Some of the ponds I fish are overrun with brush along the banks so longer rods just don't work there .At any rate of you're looking for a BFS setup the medium light/ medium fast casts ultralight lures even better than the light/mf casting rod .I can't leave out how wonderful Vicky with Handing customer service has been since I bought my first rod from them . Before I ordered the second rod age offered me some lures to try out . I said yes thinking they'd show up from China in a few months but they arrived the NEXT DAY. 3 lipless crank baits of stellar quality with superb hooks and colors the fish around here aren't used to , so that's another bonus for catching bass . I'm gonna finally get a chance to try them this weekend hopefully .Edit . I found a way to make my own hook holder and put it on the back of the rod just above the bottom handle . A small zip tie and a snap ring make a great holder . In the case of this rod I ran out of zip ties and used a wire tie and used needle nose pliers to get the twist extra tight . Either way my Handing Magic Ls all have a hook holder now .

Decent quality rod but long handle.
I ordered the 6'6" light action spinning rod.First off. I have many different rods from budget to high end, so I have plenty of experience handling different rods. I have Shakespeare micro series all the way up the megabass and gloomis. The build quality of this rod is very good for the price. The guides are straight and the cork is decent quality. The handle felt firm and comfortable. No complaints there. The rod weighs in at 4.17 oz., which is kind of heavy for a light action rod. For the price, I wouldn't expect a super light weight rod, but it shouldn't be this heavy. Even though the weight is on the heavier side the balance wasn't bad. I didn't notice it being tip heavy at all. I did mount a daiwa regal LT 1000 on it, and it felt pretty good. I also mounted a piscifun carbon x 1000 on it and the balance was still fairly good. The balance was good with both a heavier reel and a lighter one.My biggest complaint is the handle length. Its longer than most of my other rods at this length. It kept poking against my side any time the rod would move. I'm surprised nobody else have mentioned this yet. For this reason, unless you have really long arms, i wouldn't recommend this rod.Its still a good rod for the price. I just didn't like the longer handle. It the handle was a few inches shorter, it would be a great rod.
