Birch Benders Blueberry Pancake and Waffle Mix, 14 oz (Pack of 2) with By The Cup Swivel Spoons

I found the blueberry pancake mix quite delicious and simple to make. It was easily stirred and mixed with just a fork. I used Ghee as oil, and honey as syrup, and the flavor reminded me of iHop pancakes or crepes. The whole dried blueberry fruit ingredient added a nice mild blueberry flavor. I'm not the best professional pancake maker but it turned out good for my taste buds. The two nice size packs of pancake mix come with a decent swivel measuring spoon set just in case you don't have any handy. Overall, I'm happy with the blueberry pancake and waffle mix and it has been a delicious breakfast meal for any time of the day or night.

This review is for the Blueberry flavor: I used this to make pancakes. The mix took a bit more water than stated, which was hinted at in the instructions by giving a range of required water rather than a specific amount per a specific amount of the mix. For ¾ cup of mix, you are supposed to get 5 to 6 pancakes. I got four, and no pancake was more than 4 inches in diameter – so you don’t really get as much as they want to make it seem.The pancakes were a bit dense and chewy, but I really liked the texture (I like dense breads in general). Adding more water may have made them more fluffy, but I was happy with them as they were. They are also pre-sweetened. The flavor was similar to a blueberry muffin. There is quite a bit of added sugar compared to Bisquick or similar pancakes which are often made with no sugar at all. I did not need any syrup with these. Since the four 4” diameter pancakes I had would have been three servings per the package, I had 30 grams of sugar in my breakfast. That’s quite a bit, especially as four 4" pancakes is not a lot of food.Still, I really enjoyed the flavor and they were easy to make. I would do again – just keeping meals with these in moderation due to the high sugar content.My measuring spoons were pink, not an orange/red like in the picture.

Simple, tasty pancakes!!! So easy to make with just water, great breakfast idea to keep in the pantry for those times random pancake cravings hits. These are a huge hit with my kids and they’re fantastic for the times we inevitably forgot to remind the other parent to pick up milk and eggs from the store. Love that this includes measuring spoons!! Can never have too many of them!

The pancake was very condensed/thick!Horrible!I even tried adding more water to the mix still the same. No fluffiness.about it at all!I even let my sister try it without telling her anything about it, and she says the same thing.

We found this to be very dry as a pancake or waffle. Disappointed in the quality.

I did not have great results with this pancake mix. We first made waffles, and they were flat, doughy, and greasy. We kept cooking them longer and longer in the waffle maker, hoping they would crisp up on the outside. They did not. We both commented that these were not restaurant or company quality. I then wondered if it was the oil we added, since the directions call for adding a bit of oil when making waffles. So we whipped up some pancakes and got the same results -- not fluffy, doughy. We definitely have had better. There are a lot of blueberries, though! Perhaps if they are made with less liquid than the instructions call for, someone might have better results?

We use this for pancakes, and it's very yummy, but definitely more dense than our usual pancake mix. I love that the ingredients are healthier than our usual mix, and the blueberries are definitely higher quality and better tasting. I also love that it's packaged in resealable bags to keep it fresh without having to find something to store it in once opened. This package also came with a set of nesting measuring spoons, although I'm not exactly sure why, since you don't really measure any part of the mix with those small sizes; the spoons are nice though, and take up very little space since they nest into each other so well. I guess they're just a nice little bonus. Overall I like the quality of this mix and I really like that it's a healthier alternative to what we normally purchase. The texture of the pancakes takes a bit to adjust to size they're not light and fluffy, but they're still tasty and we like them.

Followed instructions and waffles came out flavorless, gummy, and just plain awful. Will never buy again.
