I am rating this kit 4 stars because I do not feel this is a beginner kit.I think the kit itself is easy for beginners, with simple and easy to follow directions on how to mix the resin. I have only made a few small resin pieces, and I only have small molds, so this works for me. The resin pours smoothly, the mixing is easy, the directions are clear on the time frames needed to mix.But I stay from saying this is for beginners because of the size and the mixing bowls.1. The size shows there is enough resin here for large pieces like platters and large trays. I truly know there is enough resin here for those pieces. This resin would pour those pieces smoothly.2. But to pour those large pieces, the mixing cups provided do not make it easy to mix larger pieces like the platters and large trays. You will be mixing numerous cups and adding colors which might not allow the mixes from different cups carry a consistent coloring and pour.

I'm happy with this resin. I was able to pour the project in only 4 one inch layers, and the resin cured well with very few blemishes. I'd recommend using pressure or vacuum for molds.Take care and be sure everything is perfectly clean and free of lint. Do not use wood to stir because the wood can leave imperfections in the resin. Zero contamination or your project will not be crystal clear.Use a simple device to stir. Make sure that device is completely clean. You should have good luck as long as your job is managed well.4 stars

I was excited to get this kit I doing epoxy projects. I usually end up with more on me than what goes into the project. So when I open this I was pleasantly surprised to find there are a lot of plastic gloves, an apron, and drop clothes. There is .75gal of part A and .75gal of part B that is mixed 1:1 ratio by volume. There are also to silicone coated reusable stir sticks one is the size and shape of a large tongue depressor and the other is the size of a small mixing spatula. Then there are two scrapers that I use to help level the resin and to remove excess resin. It also has 15 measuring cups with for measuring and mixing the resin. Then there is a package of additives with 3 mixing spoons, a pair of plastic tweezers, and 24 mica powders with 5g in each baggie that is resealable with a ziploc. There is more than plenty of each color for multiple projects, when working with mica I’ve learned a little goes a very long way, I use to go overboard with the powder and my resin wouldn’t set properly so remember less is more. These are the colors I got brilliant blue,red, ruby red, pink, violet, deep green, wine red, orange, brown, moss green, light blue, copper, yellow, gold, grass green, black, cobalt blue, purple, sky blue, turquoise, silver grey, white, and rose. It includes 3 bags of foil pieces: bronze, silver, and gold. There is a lot in each bag, but the silver has almost 4x as much as then bronze and gold does. So far I am very impressed by the unboxing now I’m going to test it out and see how many bubbles I get and if it how long it takes to set. I made a butterfly with my laser engraver and cut out the spots i wanted the resin then filled them in and it turned out very pretty. No bubbles and it was easy to work with and way dry in 24 hours. This is a great deal and I highly recommend.

This is a complete kit with everything you will need expect for mold to start creating beautiful resin projects. You get the resin, mica powders, foil flakes, gloves, measuring cups and more. The resin is super easy to mix. I like to fill the sink with hot water to heat it up to help with mixing and bubbles. It's low in odor and has a fast curing time.
