A nice improvement.
This is an excellent RA light. Light output seems similar to the non-Pro version, but using only 4 AAcells is an improvement I appreciate. The spring clip on the back is a major improvement over the steel clip on the non-Pro, and having only one screw to loosen at the battery compartment beats removing two screws. Now waiting for a model with tool-free closure like SL uses! Overall very satisfied with the Responder Pro.

Reflector not updated for new LED?
I have both the older Responder and this new "Pro" model. The old one is better. The new one has more lumens, but the center spot is slightly dimmer. All of the extra light goes into a wider secondary spot and also an even larger softer area not visible in my photo. Compared to the older model, this goes against the purpose of a smoke-cutting light, where you want a very bright center and minimal floody light bouncing off smoke and creating a glare. The secondary spot beam is also less consistent than the old one. It has a ring-like bluish shape around it, and is further off-center.I can't see the LED emitter directly due to the design of the double reflector, but stuff like this often happens when a manufacturer replaces an older LED with a new "brighter" LED which is physically larger, but does not modify the reflector design in any way.Internally, the power button is a digital button which tells the circuit to change modes (not a typical mechanical on/off like the old one). Mounted behind the same rubber cover as the old model's switch, this tiny one feels more mushy and vague. The interface is the sort where you always have to click through low mode to get to off, no matter how long it has been on high. This is OK for a light with only 2 modes (on top of "off" being a mode), but might still be disagreeable depending on your preference.Power regulation is good. It's built for 6v when using alkaline cells, and it is still bright when the voltage is down to 4.5v.The bezel is hard plastic like the old model, but now it has pointy fins all around it. You would not want a bare hand or head to bump into it.If you really want the extended runtime of the low mode, or you want an alkaline AA model instead of the rechargeable, this MIGHT be a good choice because the old one needs 6 AAs instead of 4. But I would still suggest something else. If you want a rechargeable model or don't need the low mode, I am 100% sure you should get the non-Pro model. It's better and it's cheaper.
