great design
This product fits well on a wide mouth jar. It's an easy-to-use product.

Doesn't leak at the threading, does what it sets out to do.
It has a removable silicone ring and is shallow enough for easy cleaning w/ a brush. The strainer is harder plastic, the lid is thick-walled silicone w/ some flex. I'm skeptical that the grooves will be enough for air circulation, but I use disposable coffee filters + rubber band, and have a nutmilk strainer bag on the way to make a no bugs/dust barrier. I would not trust just the silicone lid to keep bugs out, even if they don't get in, they could be hanging out right on the surface, and if there's enough moisture and nutrients there they can lay eggs. The strainer holes seem a good size to strain kefir grains (which grow during normal use anyway), but even if it ends up being too large, this should still make for a good shaker top for wide mouth mason jars for powders. Or a strainer for larger material infusions. If the holes on these strainers are too big, you might try looking at "sprouting lids" that use finer metal or plastic mesh. Harder to clean though.

Super Useful
Works almost perfect. Still get a little seepage on the sides when trying to strain things out of jars. Probably better than most other similar products out there.

Do not fit wide mouth jars. They just sit on top.
These do not properly fit wide mouth jars. Maybe I got a bad batch but they definitely don’t spin on and off. What a mess. If send them back if I hadn’t already used one. I can’t believe people are saying they work and make less mess. I made a total mess.

Very convenient!
I don't have a lot of time like everybody else, yet I make water kefir which you have to change out every 2-3 days. This strainer/lid set saves a lot of time!! I put the strainer lid on the kefir with the grains and pour off the kefir into a quart mason jar, straining the grains. Then I refeed the kefir grains (1/4 c of Turbinado sugar dissolved in 3.5 - 3.75 cups of hot water, cooled, to refill the quart mason jar)... and put a coffee filter on it with a rubber band. I then add some kind of fruit to the kefir I just poured off (frozen strawberries work great when we don't have fresh raspberries or peaches... which flavor the most) until it is full and put the strainer lid on it with the cap. I let it set out on the counter overnight and then drink it over the next couple days (keeping it in the refrigerator until it is gone). The strainer keeps the fruit in until the kefir is gone. I eat the fruit at the end of the process. This kefir lid set works great to make the process quick and easy!! I've bought extra to give away as well.

Love it
I make a constant daily supply of water kefir. Having these lids has made the process easier and faster. They allow your first ferment to vent and keeps out everything you don't want getting in. The screen allows you to easily drain and rinse the grains without using an extra bowl/cup/strainer. Less dishes..less time . Only tip..when pouring liquid in over the screen make sure the stream is slow or tilt the jar or it will create an air lock and water will fill the top above the screen and not go through. (Yes I'm lazy and don't feel like taking it off every time due to arthritis in my wrists/hands) A++
