This is a nice starter package for the price:- Everything came included boxed together as specified and in brand new condition.-Sound quality is way better than my old $20+ desktop mic that this meteor mic replaces (no more static, loud background noise, and garbling). By comparison, sound is smooth with a just a bit of bass, and you can get some good variation by changing the distance between you and the mic as you speak.- Mic is a good portable size and has base legs that can easily be folded up making it ideal for travel.-Good combination of style and function: the mic has both durable construction and good visual appeal-Package set comes with a good basic headsetThings to note:If you prefer speaking very closely (like an inch or two away) to the mic you may want a pop filter. Also as this is a condenser mic it still can pick up some of background noise, if you are trying to get a more 'professional' sound you will probably need a stand and quiet booth/room to work with.Others have recommended that you might need a micro screw driver after a long time of use if any of the base leg screws get a bit loose- so far not an issue.

TLDR: you cant use the volume knob or mute button without needing to restart your computer!the volume/mute button makes the sound all garbled and you have to mess with the volume knob a bunch like you would have to with an old stereo with the mic unplugged, then when you plug it back in your have to restart your computer to get the sound device back into the list again, and it happens every time you raise/lower the volume or mute your mic, so it means that you cannot change the volume or mute the mic if you dont want to restart your computer for it

I really like this very shiny (chrome-plated) Samson Meteor Microphone with built-in tripod stand. It is so compact and allows me to make very decent audio recordings on my laptop while away from the studio. I bought the Co2Crea hard case (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K1CBNG6/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_16) for it, as well, which offers excellent fit and protection. I recommend both the mic and the case. The Meteor Mic, once it is connected to your USB port, is almost immediately recognized and the drivers are automatically installed for it (Windows 10 Pro), and it works with all of my audio recording software as if it were a native microphone. I also own several other Samson Pro (Semi-Pro) Microphones and the recordings from this compact Meteor Mic are surprisingly decent, after you adjust its position and distance to your mouth. I am very happy with it. If I had one thing to knock it for, it would be the amount of fingerprints and smudges it collects due to the chrome finish on it, but there is a small jeweler's cloth included. The Samson headphone that was in the retail box with it...not gonna ever use it as it is made of mostly cheap plastic (no metal for durability) and it does not sound as good as my other pro-level monitor headphones. There is a short USB cable included with the Meteor Mic. I like that Samson put a built-in volume dial on it, as well as a mute button for silence between recordings. I especially love the no latency headphone jack in the back of this microphone, you just don't see this sort of forethought in most PC microphones.

This little microphone is both adorable and functional. I'm using it for things like Twitch and Discord, so I don't know if it's like, CD-quality recording since that's not something I need. I was just tired of using headphone-mic combos with low quality that stop working after a while and wanted something decent that'll last. Everyone I've talked to says they hear me clearly at 23% input volume, with the mic sitting on a desk, tilted upwards, about an arm's length away from my face.The little legs not only make it look like a space ship, but they also make it so you can put the mic at all kinds of different angles and the rubber pads ensure that they stay put. You can also screw it onto a scissor arm or stand if you have one of those. For its size, the microphone feels solid and heavy.The cleaning cloth that comes with it is handy since the chrome finish attracts fingerprints like nobody's business. It does a good job at cleaning them off. The included headphones probably wouldn't suffice for someone who wants super hardcore quality, but they're just fine for me. They fit well and manage to stay comfortable for hours even with all my earrings.

Product was delivered as expected. The microphone is a lot sturdier than it appears. It has a nice design and worked great with Garage Band and iMovie on my MacBook Pro; the headphones were a nice additional feature they are nicer than I expected. The microphone did an excellent job of professional grade recording at a lower cost.

The packaging was immediately misleading since it only displays a picture of the headphones. Once I opened it I found the headphones, mic, black felt bag for mic storage, USB adapter for mic, and soft cleaning cloth. I connected the mic to my Mac Mini and launched Audacity, my mic worked immediately with no problem. The mic itself looks and feels of good quality and the voice recording is clear. The headphones fit snuggly as expected.I was just looking for a mic I could use for video voice overs and it almost fits the bill. I found in order to hear myself through the headphones I had to increase the sound on the mic to more than half way. I also had to be about 3-5 inches from the mic to get good audio volume and anything past that was very low volume. Getting very close to the mic is not very easy or comfortable so I had to send it back.

Easy plug and played with great reception. I do a lot of live feeds and this is the best setup for the price that doesn't require additional equipment. Easily stored at minimal space. The headphones are on the cheaper side but are ok if you don't need studio quality.

My 2nd Samson Meteor Mic. My wife liked it so much I had her keep it and I got the new one. Works great on Windows desktop or notebook. Very simple install. Seller shipped same day, good service and price.
