I needed a filmanet dryer to try and recover some older filament and this filament dryer has worked perfectly for restoring the print quality.One caveat to note, the menu for the settings isn't exactly intuitive. I had to check how to understand the display in the manual while setting it up but if you're not switching between filament types a lot I don't imagine it's much of an issue.

I put this on mode 3 (1-3) for my PLA and it nearly melted it, made it all squiggly. My fault for not reading manual, guess 3 is for PETG or higher temp filament.Overall its good, circulates heat very well with it's internal fan. Wish it had a rear side hole for feeding down to a printer. But i'll just drill a hole where I want.Been about a month and it hasn't died, so 5 stars for now.

I haven't checked the validity of the claimed temperature range, but a spool with only a few meters of TPU needed well over 12 hours of the highest setting before it was usable. Maybe the filament itself was crummy, even its first print job straight out of the sealed packaging looked like an egg fried in too much oil that was way too hot,. Yes, this dryer improved it, but I'm still not very thrilled.The feeder holes that allow it to be ued as a spool holder for dry-to-print jobs seem to be self defeating. Plugs were printed as soon as it arrived and the deficiency was noticed immediately after delivery.The lid is flimsy and there is significant lateral play. Care must be given to make sure it closes properly, otherwise there's a lot more opportunity for moisture to creep inside.My biggest gripe with the dikale 3D Printer Filament Dryer is the noise. When on, this thing emits the lowest sound that could still be called a "whine," and it is easily heard throughout my entire apartment. Soon it will be so annoying that I'll only be able to use it when I am not home.So, I'm pretty sure this thing will do what it is supposed to do, but it will likely have to be set at the highest temperature and for much longer time than claimed. For the price, though, I bet it is almost as good as other filament dryers costing significantly more. My next dryer will either be home-made or much more expensive, and will certainly be better and QUIETER.

Many 3D printing filaments are hydroscopic, they absorb moisture out of the air and retain it. This moisture causes issues when printing. Since 3D printer hot ends operate well above the boiling point of water, this captured moisture vaporizes, effectively creating steam. Since the water is now a gas, a bubble forms in the extracting filament, causing a gap in the extrusion, poor bed adhesion and a failed print.Desiccant, those little packets that read, “do not eat” that are found in many packages, also absorb moisture from the air. But they are not enough to remove moisture from filament once it has been absorbed. To remove moisture from filament it must be heated carefully, not above the glass transition temperature. To do this right, 3D printing enthusiast should have a filament dryer.The dikale 3D Printer Filament Dryer Box is a great choice for this task. It is value priced and simple to operate. The top is a simple clamshell, open it up and drop in the spool of filament. Turn on the dryer with the power button. Use the mode button to select one of three temperature ranges based you’re your filament type. Use the two up/down buttons to select the run-time duration. The display will then indicate the time remaining and the temperature.I was having issues getting smooth prints with a spool of PETG that had been sitting on my printer for some time. We had rainstorms during the time the spool was exposed, so the humidity was high. I dried the spool of filament in the dryer. I am now printing fine with this spool. Since the dryer can also serve as a filament dispenser, I can continue to dry a spool of filament as I use it at the same time to print. If you save two spools of filament, you are ahead.
