Plug and play?
So far I haven't figured how to get photos off my phone. It's not just a plug in and it works.

It works, and good price for amt of storage
I was hoping to download pics directly from my phone to the thumbdrive. Then plug thumbdrive in TV and get a slideshow of pics. After a learning curve, I was able to download the pics from phone, but TV wouldn't display pics from that thumbdrive. So, I had to copy from thumbdrive computer. Then copy from computer to a different thumbdrive. But I finally got it done, and there should be many yrs of storage on that thumbdrive...which was very reasonably priced.

Great product, badly configured
Big problems using this initially, wasted a lot of time copying large volumes of files to here only to have them repeatedly disappear. Eventually went digging into the properties to find that this had been formatted as FAT and not NTFS. I reformatted it as NTFS and then it worked great. Firstly, I don't know how anyone would offer a 1TB drive and not assume that the volumes of data put on there would exceed the FAT limits, secondly I suspect that most people would not even be aware of the distinction and would simply expect it to work straight off the bat. I don't know if there are any compatibility issues using NTFS on Android, but for use in a computer, this should definitely be pre-formatted NTFS. If there is an Android issue there, at least this needs to contain a note explaining how to reformat it NTFS for use with a computer. Difficult to recommend in its current form.

Corrupted file errors on first use
The very first time I attempted to backup files onto the drive, I started getting corrupted file errors. This is while trying to copy data TO the drive, not from it. Needless to say, I'm concerned to find out how reliable the storage is after it sits around for a year or longer and I try to read from it.It's possible the corruption was caused by something external to the drive, but its not a good sign to see these errors the very first time you try to use a brand new storage device.
