Can't believe the heat generated by this battery powered iron. It's light hot and super handyOnly downside is packager Solder is useless always but a good quality roll separately, also battery doesn't last the longest but at this price nothing to complain about

Full disclaimer, I bought this soldering iron for purposes NOT intended. I have a very capable soldering setup however wanted something to install brass inserts into 3d printed items. In this, the iron works well - battery is limited but paired with a cheap portable battery pack, gives plenty of scope.The iron gives 3 set temperature levels: warm, summers day and VOLCANO, so be aware there are big jumps between each setting.Just be aware of its limitations - would I use this for precision work? Absolutely not. Would I use this to connect 2 basic points - probably at a pinch. Would I use this to melt plastic? YARP

When you get it the things is lovely to use! However, then it stops working within a few days of use. Very sad that it dies too quickly because it's a lovely thing to use!

Annoyingly you start to use it for a few de-soldering tasks, do it fast or it doesn't last 15 mins as it should last 30 mins constantly connecting to usb to charge it and it doesn't work while being charged. I bought it more of a novelty as i have never used anything like these before. I normally use antex soldering irons. I wanted not to be attached to a cable when soldering...You get what you pay for. I use it on the medium setting and when the handle gets warm it need charging again. and also when it flashes red it need charging. Annoying thing.

I am surprised how good this is. So many repairs get put off because it's just such a hassle to get the soldering iron out. With this it is so easy when you only want to do a few solder joints. It melts leaded solder fine on the lowest setting. But you need the higher settings for lead free. Replacement tips seem to be readily available so it's not a use and throw away item. If the battery lasts as long as claimed is yet to be seen. The instructions are basic as you would expect. The red charge LED turns green when fully charged. Overall if you want a pocket sized iron for a quick repair this does the job just fine. Highly recommend.
