I was reluctant to even watch this when it was on TV because I didnt want to see some Roots reject series! It was the disappointment of the movie Harriet that brought me to buy this series in 2020, and now im addicted. Wow, whomever wrote this had twists and turns and excitement and drama all over the place! This was a well-good buy....YEAH AND THE QUALITY OF THE ACTUAL DISKS WERE GOOD TOO. I didnt believe that any thing could top Roots....this is that series! Wow

In a world where black and white people are almost always portrayed as enemies, this is a pioneering attempt to show how they actually need to come together in order to overcome the oppressive system that predominantly rich whites have benefited from. It does, however, also show how a small number of blacks have also managed to occupy positions that benefit them and its rulers.There are some times when the storyline falters, but overall it's an amazingly done roller-coaster of emotional highs and low, and the acting is generally superb. This needs to continue on....Why can't ABC or day time TV put this on. It's as good as Getting Away with Murder, Friends, Big Bang, Will and Grace, Get rid of Roseanne and put this up please. New angle on history of America. I loved WHITEFACE so awesome CATO. Great job Jurnee with your southern accent you do it so well. I am so happy to know Amirah Vann such wonderful actors and actresses on this show. Please bring it back should we start a go fund me or something for this.

Now this is a slavery series I do not mind watching. It more so seems like an action filled western where slavery is not skipped over as a subject. I like how they added Harriet Tubman to this fictionalized historical narrative. On 9/272020 I am going to use much of this series as a basis for my sermon.

It is very excellent movie on slavery. Some of the blacks today are still treated like the movie, which is wrong... We are all equal, no matter what colour we are.

Honest characters, historical setting.

Excellent series.
