I was surprised the rail mount actually works, a little red thread locker on the screws and so far n I problem. Battery is rechargeable and has had 4 full charges so far, have used other batteries of the same style and no issues Nice size and function, most handheld/rail mount IR lights have huge lenses and look ridiculous, not this one.I've been successful with all its intended purposes. This is not a area illuminator for passive lighting, if using nvg's keep that in mind. It may cause a glare on your optics if not pointed the direction of sight.

Functions pretty good but at the end of the day it’s a cheap light. The bracket does not even get tight enough to clamp down on the light so I took some cork gasket material and made it work for the time being.

I am an optical engineer and I have been working on a project where I needed to get a very strong IR flashlight. I bought pretty much every single IR flashlight available on amazon except for $400+ stuff and I can guarantee that this is the strongest 850 nm flashlight you can find. I tested multiple brands with an optical power meter and this one outputs over 600mW of power while other brands can vary from 20mW~200mW. Only problem that this flashlight doesn't have the ability to adjust the intensity, but it is an absolute beast at a great price.

Light wasn't as powerful as I assumed and the mount won't grab light it just slides back and forth when mounted

The flashlight stopped working after one month. The battery shows fully charged, but the light will not turn on.
