This lock was designed especially to lock containers that have the welded hood latch cover in the center of the doors. It has a very unique key to it. They supply 10 keys. The lock is very well constructed and sturdy.

...which I should have known. And what's with 10 keys?

Very unreliable! I spend 5 or more minutes fiddling with the locks and keys to jiggle the open or closed!I have other container locks of a different manufacturer and they are so much easier and better quality! Do NOT buy these overpriced junk locks!

I have rated the lock as 4 stars as I had some problems with it in outdoor use. Their Customer Service however, was Excellent!! I described the problem, sent photos, and they sent an upgraed all Stainless Steel replacement lock. The communication along the way was clear and prompt, making sure that I was satisfied with their proposed corrective action. If you are planning to use it exclusively outdoors, I might suggest you consider going with an all SS lock.

terrific quality and great price!!

Used this lock outdoors on a storage building. Over time has become literally impossible to open with a key. Key will turn partway, but will not turn enough to open the lock. Not sure if this from being exposed to weather or what the cause might be. Seems like a sturdy enough design, but if you can't open a lock it doesn't do you much good!

The product is great until it rains and the lock mechanism "freezes" up and then you have to hit it with a hammer to release the lock for 30 minutes......Bought 2 different times, both issues.Lastly, tried to get a human on the phone to discuss, no luck what so ever.....Buyer beware!

Locks totally froze up and are now unusable
