I'm a handyman and I installed these for a customer. Luckily there was wood behind the wall, so I did not need the anchors for them. One reviewer complained about the round indentation at the top of the hooks. The only reason he's able to complain about that, is because he's comparing the hook to a previously purchased hook. Any type of hooks like these that have that indentation, is for holding the top part of the hook to the mounting bracket, so the top does not back away from the bracket. You would hook the top first, push the bottom in, and secure the hook with the set screw at the bottom.One thing to note is that the instructions give the idea that you should mount the screws vertically. Do not mount the screws vertically. When you mount the screws vertically, any downward force (from a towel hanging) will put mostly on the top screw, making the overall strength of the hook weak. Drill and install the anchors horizontally. When installed horizontally, any downward force, will pull equally on both screws.

We recently built a new home and bought two boxes of these for installation in bathrooms and around the house. They appeared to look exactly like other, more expensive ones on Amazon, so assuming they're made in the same Chinese factory as the ones that cost more, we chose these. Opened the first box and installed all six hooks without issue and they look/function fantastic! Very happy! Had my experience with this product ended there, I would've given these a solid five stars!But when I opened the second box to install the next hook, it had a round indentation on the TOP of the trim as if the factory had nearly punched a second hole for the set screw on the top as well as the bottom. Thinking it was just an isolated factory defect in the one hook, I set it aside and reached for another only to find the next hook actually had a second HOLE in it where the indentation had gone all the way through the metal! I inspected them all, and every one of the hooks in the second box had either the indentation or a hole where neither should be.The photo shows an installed hook from the first box on the left, a hook from the second box on the right.I sent the second box back. I'll update the review when the replacement box comes. Fingers crossed!Received the replacement box after a few days and no dice! Replacement shipped with the same dimple/hole in the top that's only supposed to be on the bottom for the set screw. My guess is the seller gets these as defective seconds from the same factory that produces the more expensive ones without a dimple/hole on the top. Of the 18 I received, I kept 6 and shipped the rest back.
