Xbox Wireless Controller – Astral Purple Series X|S, One, and Windows Devices

So, these XBox controllers. They apparently have a Bluetooth bug that stops them from working properly with the majority of devices. Only the XBox works with them flawlessly, as it's permissive to their strangenesses.I tried to connect it to my Linux laptop, but I got the same problem that I got with a pair of headphones that have a bluetooth bug in the connect phase. The headphones are supposed to advertise some information, such as audio profiles, but they don't, and the laptop just boots them off, and they try to reconnect... rinse repeat.The same thing was happening with this controller. It was trying to connect, would be recognised by Steam, but nothing would work, and I'd find that the controller had lost connection and been kicked off a few seconds after it had connected.It seems that the controller has a bug, which M$ know about, because if you download the XBox firmware updater app when the controller's connected to a windows PC, the app immediately spots there's an issue and installs a later firmware.As soon as you try to connect the controller after the update, it works perfectly.But if, like me, you don't have a spare windows machine lying around, you'll need to beg/borrow/steal a Windows PC to load up the software to update the firmware. IT doesn't run under Wine / Oracle VMBox properly, sadly.Once the controller is patched and connected, it's great (for a controller). Don't get me wrong, I think using controllers is awful in the majority of games. Give me Kbd + Mouse any day for anything other than a simple racing game. But, for a controller, this one is pretty neat.The electric volt colour was my boy's idea. He really liked the green, so asked for that one. It does look nice, but slightly out of place with all his blue LEDs. Nice brushed finish to the texture, though.A pretty good controller, but they need to start shipping patched units!

I've had 2 of the more expensive Elite V2s which both developed the same issue and honestly you're probably better off with this basic one.If you want the elite style just get some interchangeable thumbsticks, and some adjustable triggers from eXtremeRate. (You can also grab a remap kit if you want back buttons but I didn't use those much truthfully.)I'd also suggest get a rechargeable battery pack they aren't expensive. Even if you are leaving the pad as is a battery pack I'd say is an essential add on worth getting.Battery life is good, especially with a pack. Connectivity to Xbox is flawless as it's made for that console. The colour is really nice on this blue although I may be changing out the white back for a black one as it's simple enough to do.I find the size is perfect, it's comfortable in hand and I prefer it to the dualsense tbh.I still have a working pad from my Xbox One so the value is pretty good. I gave a few away to people when I got my Elite and regret it a little but the base controller isn't that expensive especially on sale.

Great design, fits comfortably in your hand, compatible with xbox one s, not tride with others. Connect fast to xbox when pairing, using normal AA batteries, the life does not last long as to he expected but overall great value for money.

Nice colour, buy the wireless elite 2 if you are a proper gamer, before I did I bought so many of these which would always end up moving in a direction on its own and that kind of nonsense is unacceptable when you're having a gaming Sesh that requires perfectly tuned sticks and buttons.I have 12 of these controllers which can't handle the hours of constant gaming and wish I'd bought the elite 2 much earlier because they used to knock these basic controllers out for £50 +\- £10 over time. Elite 2 at £150 or less when deals on is not expensive when you've bought 3 basic ones that all end up in the same way after a couple of month's of real gaming Seshes. Like doing a 36-48-72hr no sleep gaming Mish with absolute concentration and focus. Elite 2 is a stronger and has a longer lifespan.Obviously the elite 2 will inevitably start to breakdown but if you purchase the 2-3yr insurance for not a lot you will be able to have a brand new one once it starts to fault, mine started to open at the seam which was disappointing but I had the insurance for 3yrs or 2yrs and was under 20 quid. That little bit extra supplies new elite 2 and comes standard with a new 12 month replacement.

I love the design of the Xbox controller it’s very light and easy to hold and play and it works well with my pcs setup and it’s great value for money and it’s fits on my desk nicely without taking up to much space perfect for a minimal set up

Feels Amazing in Hand, Looks Beautiful, Also Helps with the grip/sweat as it has some sort of texture.
