Diamond Jubilee

Recived the itm very quickly.However some tracks (2 or 3) have been repeated on other CD's but these are the main regemential marches. The money goes to a good cause and this is the perfect CD to see the true talent of the Royal Marines Band Service.

IN TERMS OF MUSICAL ABILITY THERE IS NO DOUBTING ANY RM BAND PRODUCT. TO SEE THE BANDS LIVE IN CONCERT OR ON PARADE IS A MUSICAL TREAT. IN TERMS OF CONTENT THIS ALBUM LACKS IMAGINATION! WITH 60 YEARS OF MUSIC TO CHOOSE FROM, IT IS SAD TO SEE SO MUCH ' SAFE ' MATERIAL. AT LEAST 60% HAS BEEN ISSUED ON PREVIOUS ALBUMS.IN 60 YEARS WE HAVE MOVED FROM TED HEATH, SID PHILIPS, THE MERSEY SOUND, ROCK & ROLL, QUEEN AND THE ARRIVAL OF BRITISH RULE IN STAGE MUSICALS. TO SAY NOTHING OF THE VAST ARRAY OF FILM MUSIC. ALL OF WHICH WOULD HAVE BETTER REFLECTED THE 6 DECADES. THIS ALBUM IS MORE LIKE A BEST OF....., WHICH HAS BEEN DONE BEFORE.

The Diamond Jubilee CD by the Royal Marines Band is great and the choice of music is brilliant as well with something for everyone. Also this CD goes to help a worthy cause as well.

Once again another superb production of the best by the best.Stirring tunes from Her Majesty's reign that can be listened to time and time again.

This will be almost certainly well played, but what I put in the Title of my Review, is what it is. For people who already have a good collection of Royal Marine CD's, the tracks are duplicated on several other CD's. I doubt if I will be buying it, despite the profits going to Royal Marine/Navy Charities.

This CD is inspiring, moving and heart-warming. It shows exactly what makes Britain so great and listening to it makes you feel very proud to be British. Featuring the unrivalled musical talents of The Royal Band of HM Royal Marines under the genius direction of Major Tony Smallwood, along with two great choirs, singing together in beautiful harmonies, this CD is breathtaking and would make a great addition to any CD collection or to give as a gift to someone you love. Amazing.

Fantastic CD with outstanding playing throughout. Well chosen programme especially Brian Knowles 'Jubilee Tribute' featuring the choirs of The Medina Choir,Isle of Wight and Senior Choir of St Catherine's School,Bramley. Well done to all and wish all the success of this example of our musical heritage. Hopefully, this will raise a great deal of funds for a very worthwhile charity!

I bought this CD when I saw the Massed Bands of HM Royal Marines at the Albert Hall. It's really rousing, a perfect accompaniment to a Diamond Jubilee party. I loved the special Diamond Jubilee Tribute track, and of course Nimrod. Undoubtably the best Military Band in the world!
