Worked straight out of the box on my Hasselblad 500 ELX February 2020.Holder is well made - solid metal - you fit the battery aligning to the correct + and - sign - fit it where the Hasselblad battery goes and switch the camera on.That's it really - simple and effective and next day delivery and £10 cheaper than ebay.

To get it to work in my Hasselblad EL,I had to secure a brass flat washer to the top of the adapter. Now electrical contact is made and thecamera works!

After deciding to start using my 500ELM again, I discovered that the charger was broken. Since the charger has not been made in many years, I considered buying a used one on eBay. I was concerned that any replacement would also be quite old and would have an unknown useful life. I expected that I would also have to replace the NiCad battery since it is also over 20 years old. The Fotodiux battery adapter was a good alternative since I could now use disposable batteries. The cost of the batteries is not that significant since my usage will be very low (over 98% of my shooting wlll still be Nikon digital.)The adapter was out of stock and took about a month to be received. I just inserted a fresh battery in the adapter, replaced the existing NiCad, and the old Hasselblad was working again. The adapter seems to be of good quality and an excellent fit. I've only cycled the camera a few dozen times so I don't know how long the battery will last but the company claims 200 photos per battery. Thus far I'm quite satisfied with the product at $30 compared to at least $100+ for a used charger and new NiCad battery.
