Perfect for someone starting to play. Easy, but not trivial. Certainly fulfilling.Ideal to improve sight reading.The accompaniment can easily be done by someone slightly more advanced.In short, highly recommended for pre first level students.

Bought for my son ( 8 years old ) and myself both of us are beginners. Really like the book and my son finds it right for his level, the only one gripe is that the duet part for me to play is quite a bit harder than his and so I find it a little trickier. Nontheless would recommend as with all the other books in the range.

It’s good for beginners. I’m a pianist but I’ve bought it fir my son who’se learning.

A refreshing change. This is great fun.

My son is enjoying learning from this. He quickly loses confidence,(dyslexia makes reading music v. difficult) and this is just right as he can mostly work out the pieces himself, and we have a lot of fun playing together. He's been playing for a year, and this is his second John thompson book.
