The Wilco Classic Library editions are so good- printed on good quality paper
Oh! To dare to rate Mark Twain's story! The rating is simply for this edition. I first read this story 55 years ago.. Ever since, I have read it many, many times over in several editions. I read it at least once a year, around my birthday- for Tom seems to be so very much a part of us! In rereading it, we recall to mind the little incidents that peppered our own care-free school days and relive those days!I have several edtions, all paperbacks (a word I do not like) and hence not durable, often not even readable. The Wilco Classic Library editions are so good- printed on good quality paper, the typeface easy to read, the font size just right, the pages designed well so that they are not cluttered, and are easy on the eye;the book spine-stitched so you can open the book fully withour fear, and beautifully bound- all this brought to you at such an affordable price, which is indeed like a free gift these days! The only shortcoming -if I must point out one- is that it lacks an introduction, but this is really not an issue these days when you get so much material on the Net.I am glad I bought this edition.Amazon made it even more affordable!

Great book
Nicely written book and the book is able to visualise the characters. My son loved it. The few words are new to him. But, any how he tried to read this book.

Good for beginner readers
A good introduction to young readers to old classics. Although the page and print quality is slightly on the lower side, at this price it's and an absolute steal. My 8 yr old loves the story and has finished it multiple times. Book might be a bit lengthy for very young readers and lack of illustrations might turn some younger readers off.

Five stars all the way
This book written about a hundred and fifty years back is an American classic. The book describes the adventures of teenagers Tom Sawyer and his friend Huck in those good old days.To confess, I had long ago heard of Tom Sawyer but did not have the chance to read the book. It deserves all the praise heaped on it.Before you have finished thirty pages, you will have fallen in love with Tom Sawyer. I was again and again reminded of Dennis the Menace! The various adventures, fun and frolic will cast a spell on the reader. Older readers will fondly reminisce about their childhood days. The writer, Mark Twain displays mastery over the language too – choosing apt slang for the dialogues, and depicting other emotional scenes in superb prose.Another remarkable thing about the story is that there are enough surprises and twists. This is done so skillfully that the reader may not be even aware of it. A lesson to some of the present-day writers (top) who breathe and growl and groan trying to add twists in their tales at every turn of a chapter (especially the last line). The last chapter of the book, especially, is simply superb – filled with memorable lines. If you have not read the book, go grab it.Five stars all the way.

My all-time favorite work of fiction. I usually read this every summer. As a fourth grader I read this book and took it very seriously. It was my dream to build a raft and go adventuring. Actually I did build the raft, but there was not enough water in the creek. My other great ambition was to come marching into my own funeral. I still think that would be fun. When I read about Tom taking a licking for Becky Thatcher in school and sharing his cake with her in the cave, I thought that was incredibly chivalrous and how things ought to be. Because I read this book when I was young & before I understood much of the humor, I think it shaped the way I think in many ways.As an adult, I have re-read this book several times and love its timeless humor. The descriptions of a little kid at church are totally relevant today. I have learned that this book is primarily a light-hearted book written about children, but for adults.

Difficult language for kids to understand
I bought this book for my 6 th class son.I read reviews that are saying good book. But it's old English. Difficult for children to read. Vocabularye is quite rare. So this book is not for kids. The language has to be simplified so make children friendly.

Arrivage rapide mais livre abimé
Arrivage rapide. Sur 4 livres, celui là avait la couverture complètement pliée. Super pour un cadeau de Noël...Je n'ai pas le temps de faire un retour et attendre un nouveau donc je devrais m'en contenter mais bof quoi !
