Q: Does this item work on a Chamberlain lift master- 1992? We had one that we had to return because it worked on 1993 and above.

Same here I bought the first one and it didn't work. Look at the color of your reset button on the opener. I believe the listings show which remote works for which color of reset button. Apparently different models had different color reset buttons-- I found that more helpful than trying to match with model number. I will say one downside of this remote my old remote you could hit enter and it would close an open garage door this one you have to retype the code to close not a major deal but does take an extra few keystrokes.
