RUNAWAY - SPINNEN DES TODES -

I bought this not having any idea what the quality of the transfer would be like, and to be honest, not having much hope for it being very good. I was very pleasantly surprised when I played it. The opening Tri-Star ident wasn't great quality, with some drop out on it, which made me nervous, thinking I'd got some VHS transfer. But once the movie starts, wow, it looks awesome. It is undoubtedly remastered from 35mm, and thankfully they haven't ruined it with digital noise reduction or edge enhancement (often used to fake a sharper image). The film grain is intact, which I welcome.Whether you like the movie or not is up to you. I've always had a fondness for it, despite its shortcomings. Tom Selleck recently spoke about it in an interview (I think around October 2015) and remembered it with fondness too.This is definitely worth checking out, especially as the movie never had a UK DVD release. The menus are German, but easily navigated and the movie has clean English audio.

Fantastic slice of 80s sci-fi, including American rock band Kizz's front man in his debut movie as the antagonist. Runaway is a 1984 American science fiction action film written and directed by Michael Crichton, starring Tom Selleck, Gene Simmons, Cynthia Rhodes and Kirstie Alley.In this advanced society, most homes have robots that perform everyday menial duties. Every so often, one malfunctions, and Sgt. Jack Ramsay (Selleck), an expert in rogue machines, must deal with it. When he and his new partner, Karen Thompson (Rhodes), investigate a robot-involved homicide, they discover strange computer chips. Rather than a malfunction, someone is programming the robots to kill. The police must find whoever is behind the murder before more harm is done.This is the German blu-ray release, you have both German and (orignal) English audio in DTS sound, picture quality is stunning, you really appreciate the sharpness of the opening titles, skin tone and detail, fabulous transfer,order came quickly and had excellent communication from seller. I highly recommend this underrated movie and forget what Rotten Tomatoes tell you.

Excellent film an insight into today's technology.

Excellent quality transfer of movie from dvd and vhs. Sound quality is just average but good decent picture. Story involves Sgt Ramsey a specialist in robotics police cop and and intangled conspiracy crime of an enemy very sophisticated at causing the murders by robotics and smart heat seeking thermal bullets over advanced A.I templates of an evil corporation company. Ramsey (Tom Selleck) and Luthor (Gene Simmons) are destined for a final showdown of survival by movies finale. Written by scientist author of Jurrasic Park Michael Cricton and co1starring Kirstie Alley, Cynthia Rhodes and GW Bailey RUNAWAY Iis a most relevant cautionary tale of dangerous robotics and there breakdowns from 1984 to now in 2018.

Fantastic movie from my childhood that stands up to this day. The HD remaster is astounding for being 35 years old or thereabouts. I spotted things I missed on the DVD release and could read signs in the background for instance. This release is in German but just hit play then using your remote choose English audio. Perfect!

Good film could been given better info langage

I have had this movie on Laser Disc for many years and am very pleased to be able to upgrade to Blu-ray. What can I say about this movie but brilliant, then I am bias. Recommended to anyone who like sci-fi not too sci-fi. I also have to admit I am a Tom Selleck fan.

watched it many years ago and my daughter loved it (despite her issues with spiders) so I got it as an extra for Christmas. Great product, excellent service - cannot fault it.

Although this is packaged as Region 2 (Europe/Africa), it plays on region 1 (US/Canada) players no problem. I and others here purchased this from M plus L and were delighted to be able to play it!

Picture and sound quality great. No jitters during playback. Arrived very quickly after order in protective packaging.
