Poultry Netting Best in 30 Years
I have installed poultry netting a few times over the 30 years I have raised poultry. It was not easy. This time with the help of Amazon reviews, everything went smoothly. I am grateful for the reviews on amazon for the advise for installing this one. Everything came together without a hitch. Whoever said, "get help" and "spread a tarp" offered stellar advise. Our family (4 adults) installed a 50X50X2.4 size net using small wire cable and tensioners strung diagonally from the wooden corner posts across the pen. (We intend to install more cable wire to lift the netting up in a couple places.) We used an 8' Tee-post at the center of the 'X' where the cables crossed.. Our fence is 7 foot tall 65ftX45ft. I was concerned that our tarp wasn't as big as the area, but you only need the tarp on the ground where you are working. I opened the bag, unwound enough net to find the edge (not being concerned about length or width because they are the same.) I let out the edge end and another person held the "bundle" of netting as two other people attached the net to the fence using small cable ties, we tried to keep it loose, so we could make adjustment later. (I kept thinking like basting stitches when you are first putting a garment together.) We eventually started putting the cable ties on backwards so we could loosen them easily, and re-adjust. I used a 25X50 net to finish the project. We ran cable through eye bolts along the side of the chicken house and attached the net between the fence and the building same as before. This time we needed to cut the netting. We discovered that cutting diagonally across the weaving produced a straighter edge. Other reviews mention it tears easily. This has not been our experience, in fact, we took a break leaving some ends hanging to the ground, when we came back, a chicken was caught in the net, we had to cut the net to get her out. Then I tied the strands back together. The netting does catch on everything, though it isn't that hard to untangle. I'm ordering another small bundle of net to have on hand for repairs. I'm also going to order the small mesh size for trees and gardening next season.

A chicken coop must have!
We bought this net after a hawk got one of our chickens. It has withstood Colorado wind and snow and kept our chickens safe! It was a bit difficult to spread, but with a couple more hands and some patience, we got it put up! Amazing product!

So far so good!
I got this to protect my chickens from getting killed from hawks. Works really good so far. A bit hard to unroll without tangling but you just use patience you’ll get it done. Definitely need at least 2 people to get it right :)

This will test you!
I lost 5 hens in a few months to a Cooper’s hawk. This was our fix, our run is 70’X 30’ we ordered the100’X 50’ length with one inch holes. It took my husband and I 6 hours to pull it over many posts (which it gets hung up on) over a tall shrub which it got completely tangled in and was a nightmare (tip put plastic or a tarp over everything you can) over a small tree, two coops (hangs up on shingles) and a small out house. We have done three renovations and this netting nearly broke us lol! My husband said “we will sell the house if we ever need a new one) hahaha. It will hook on gloves, zippers, finger nails….. in the end we probably have not laughed so hard in a very long time. I will purchase again for my hens! Tip if it get hung up and it Will , DO NOT pull too hard or it will rip. It is semi strong, it’s not like the plastic bird netting. Good luck :)

looks very fragile
ive worked with other bird netting before and this looks incredible thin and useless. I didn't unfold it or try to put it on our run after just initially feeling it. it doesnt feel like it could hold up to much of anything and seems like it'd be a hazard that birds would just get caught in.

This is really difficult to use
This product did eventually do what we wanted but the process of untangling it and spreading it out was very difficult. The cord it is made with is very fine and tangled in every little twig or piece of straw if you are trying to use it outdoors. We bought it to cover the top of a chicken run and it is is finally spread and stretched tight but it took us several hours to do so bc of how easily tangled it became. It already has one hole so we are hoping the durability is good but aren’t sure it will be.So in other words it is not easy to spread at all, durability is medium and it is very light weight but I would have rather it been more heavy duty

Survived all summer!
It wasn’t that hard to install, you just have to prepare your area first (read all the reviews to see what went wrong with the others, it is helpful!!). We used it for the chicken area, since they were going into our neighbours’ garden. It’s perfect, survived a big goose landing on it and trying to go back to her outside pen, some chickens trying to get out, big winds… It’s very sturdy!
