The Very Best of Arthur Lyman

This collection is the perfect CD to get to know his music or if you just want his all time classics. Being Arthur Lyman's niece, I grew up listening to his music. We have all his albums! He was a handsome, fun loving man who was always there with a smile and a hug. Watching him play was magic. He was able to hold 4 mallets, two in each hand, as he played. It was amazing to hear and watch. There will never be another "Uncle Buddy". I miss him! Hearing Yellow Bird makes me cry everytime. Side note: Get his Christmas album which I could only find on Amazon. The cover art on that album is NOT the original art work but the music is all Arthur Lyman.

I saw both Martin Denny and Arthur Lyman in Hawaii in the 1960's. Loved them in person and the album lets me re-live many good memories. I think that music style is ageless. Always easy to listen to; than the 'crap' from the 90's 'til now.

A trip down memory lane: this music was still being played in the Hilton Hawaiian Village when I was in Honolulu in the 60’s.

Arthur Lyman is the best when it comes to Exotic sounds! Just close your eyes and you feel like you're actually in Hawaii!

It has good quality music on it and I hear 50's songs done in a very pleasing and entertaining way. We listen to it all day long in our restaurant in August.

I remember Lyman's music, along with Martin Denny's, giving me a "South Pacific" feeling many years ago. Not at all like Cleveland's weather. And now I can relive the feeling. Very nice recording.
