Works well in my ice plunge
works great in my outdoor, 106 gal cold plunge tub. perfect for keeping the water above freezing to avoid ice damage to the plastic, and fine tuning the temperature when i want it less intense. even tho there's no water movement, it still warms the water within a reasonable amount of time, depending on the starting air and water temperature, and how much warmer i want it to become, but a day at most. i'm in atlanta, so in winter it can get into the teens at night in winter, or all the way up to 60 degrees for the daily high.

Strong heater for the tank
I use this primarily to heat up my new water in my 60g container, which it took my 300w too long. This takes about 2 hrs to reach the desired temp of 82F from 63F.I think its coated with titanium and not made of it. higher chance of it being steel with a coat. price always dictates. As it is metal . it should last as i knock this about.what is a bit off is the heating element as it takes time to cool off, always raising then lowering my temp by 1F . fish dont seem to mind. but it is super quick to reach desired setting.I do believe for my purposes it will last. and that gives it my vote.2 thumbs up!!

Great but hard to adjust
Great heater, works very well. However, I can’t figure out how to reduce the heat. Once you’ve set it at a certain temperature it seems like it’s just stuck there until you increase the temp 🤷♀️, kinda annoying

Very easy to use, maintains temperature within the set temp great value for the money
The media could not be loaded. I breed Angelfishes and bought this to see if it can be used on my grow-out tanks, temperature regulation is very important for breeders as we have hundreds of young Angelfishes in each tank, tested it for several weeks and Hitop Heater was absolutely flawless, no complaintsUpdate: Bought a second unit a 600W version, just as expected worked like a charm on my 75 gallon tank, the temperature fluctuates very minimally, within acceptable parameters as with any heater, will probably be getting a 3rd unit soon

Great Heater for Large Aquatic Turtels
Works extremely well in an aquatic turtle tank with huge turtles. They haven't once been able to knock the heater off of its suction mount. The device is well build and maintains temperatures very well.

Seems reliable
This is my 4th time purchasing this heater, the first one about 3 years ago and it's still going strong. It seems to be reliable and can indeed heat a large volume of water.I have 4 240 gallon aquariums with great circulation (absolute must when using just 1 heater though I do use a redundant backup heater) and it keeps them at 77/80 degrees f. with no problem.I will get another when on sale. The only thing I don't like is the bright orange version. The grey version goes better with my natural decor.

Temp set is inaccurate. Water temp 9 deg F less than setting.
I find water heaters for aquariums or pond are rarely accurate in temp setting compared to actual water temp. This heater is a high wattage and claims to heat >100 gallons. First the actual setting of the desired temps has to be done while unit is submerged ... then reading the digital face is difficult while trying to set. Making a new setting is very difficult and the instructions are not clear on how to do this. I finally managed to set this at 77 degrees F. This is a 100 gallon outdoor pond in so. Cal. Daytime temps are 75F+ with nighttime around 46F. The temp of the water after 24 hours is 68F. The heater shows the water temp is 77F and is therefore not heating as it is showing the desired water temp set has been reached, except it hasn't. A 9degF is a considerable difference. What happens if I adjust temp up, will it continue to have the 9deg difference or will it heat the water to the increased setting? I have asked for an explanation and I have been told this heater is not supposed to be used outdoors ... a missing fact when I was looking for a "heater for 100 gal pond" , then I got told to have a pump and filter ... which I do have already which I would have in an aquarium or pond!! I note that others have also commented on the set temp is way off to actual water temp after heating. I am very dissatisfied with the answers I have been given by the supplier as they have not answered the main fact that the temperatures shown are significantly off ... is it just this heater I have been sent or are all of them off?UPDATE: SOMEHOW THE TEMP SETTING HAS CHANGED WITHOUT MY INPUT AND IS SHOWING 33 DEGREES CELCIUS AND IS HEATING THE WATER WHICH IS NOW AT 77 DEGREES F. THE PROBLEM IS THAT 33 CELCIUS IS 91 FARENHEIT ....... HOW DID THAT HAPPEN!

Keep it next to water flow
If you don't keep it next to water flow. ( filter return to tank) temp rises and it over heats. But if you keep it where water flows by it works great
